Re: Asus X555L backlight shuts off when on battery

Re: Tagan 700W ATX PSU faulty - no 5V STBY. TG700-U25

Why does the transformers look a lot later than the components on photo #2?

The transformers look like they're from 2010, week 49.

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

Well, the Chemi-con KZG-series caps were known to last for a fair while, then suddenly take a shit.

It can be roughly 10 years later, before the KZG-series caps suddenly take a shit...

Re: done with m$ windho's

It's like Microsoft is provoking people to go to Linux, I've received words before that even XP with a blacklisted product key, would treat users a lot better than that, at least allow security...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

For all I know, it could have been cardiac cancer! I recently received words that asbestos, at least repeated exposure, can cause cardiac cancer as well! Not only lung cancer!

This, for all I...

Re: What TRULY Renders an Operating System Obsolete?

But, I never saw even Android updates get corrupted the amount of times that Windows updates get corrupted...

The "SFC-finding-corrupted-component-states" issue is going to get old, fast!

I do, a woman who got an unexpected heart attack at only 79, IIHC! Very recently, IIHC!
(And she wasn't one of the "known-elevated-risks-based-on-race")
But she was sedentary!

Re: Problem with TX650 Corsair Power Supply

Doesn't look like actual bulging. (no bulge at the vent seams)

Re: Sharp LC-32D44E-BK possible lamp error???

Probably a bad CCFL or a bad CCFL connection. If still met with a failure after correctly reconnecting CCFLs that are not faulty, then it's time to check the inverter board!

Also a click to a...

RJARRRPCGP system error: One or more photos unreadable. (blurring)

Well, one of the photos appear to be improperly focused.

Re: Top screen color fading

How new is that TV? Looks like later-2010s to me, and if it is, 99 percent, it's shit LEDs! Or LEDs with shit mounting!

Re: Globalscale Sheeva Plug

Looks a lot older than a few years old, looks like 2010, by the digits printed on the green PCB. Looks like the usual 4-digit time-of-manufacturing. On the far left photo, on the bottom left of the...

Re: M$ Security Essentials (MSE) Stopped updating 3 days ago....

Most, have switched to SHA1 and even SHA1 has a reported vulnerability.
So, SHA looks better in the long run to know if an ISO was tampered by malware or not. Or a hacker or not.

Re: M$ Security Essentials (MSE) Stopped updating 3 days ago....

Interestingly, I have yet to see ISOs with an SHA2 hash available from Microsoft.

But the Windows ISOs, do at least have SHA1. And even SHA1 is now considered a risk! (albeit a remote...

Re: Chaintech Apogee 7VJL Unstable

Yep, the KZG-series caps on that motherboard, especially from 2004 or 2003, are most likely bulging, if not already spewing like a volcano!

Like my 2004 Asus A7N8X-X had! (nForce2)

Re: done with m$ windho's

Well, Windows 7 post-beta, seemed slow to me!

I swore that Windows 7 beta build 7000 was really like a lightning bolt on my "poor man's Core 2 Duo" (actually a Pentium E2180) Especially when I...

Re: done with m$ windho's

And people back in the early-2010s, thought 7 was bad! We now have worse, despite it's usually tolerable for me! (Windows 10) (Unless the date is wrong, that was before VTel FTTH was even ready, LOL!)

Re: done with m$ windho's

LOL! Yes, even when Windows XP is normally a good Windows version, it rightly developed a reputation of getting pissed off at the user. It's pickier than Windows 2000. This mostly comes from the fact...

50=That's of course when you need to be on the lookout for type-2-diabetes.
That's the condition that I know as the "50+ disease".

I thought I heard of a BIOS bug like that with a motherboard in the DDR1 era, possibly the Asus socket 939 motherboards.

What did Taicon do? Did Taicon contaminate the electrolyte of Nichicon HN and HM caps?

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

Ironically, I would trust Taicon more than Chemicon KZGs and the like, at least for the earlier KZG-series caps.
