Re: New Cheap Chinese Soldering Plates

Working with LED strips... not imo.
But if those gloves work great with pcb boards there's possible answer to your question @redwire...

Re: New Cheap Chinese Soldering Plates

Those gloves don't provide any accuracy
Even an aluminium foil paper sheet would provide much better results.
Place the sheet over the heat plate, leave good margins, place the strip, do the work,...

Re: New Cheap Chinese Soldering Plates

That guy almost nailed it… aside from a mistakenly confusing Power (or Energy) with Voltage, what a great shame :barf:
U=RI
P=RI2 [Power (or Energy) = resistance x squared current]

Here the...

Re: New Cheap Chinese Soldering Plates

Aside from the plate size (75x75mm vs. 120x75mm) and price (1st vs. 2nd & 3th) I'm not sure if the heating element isn't the same... because they state the same constant power consumption at the same...

Re: New tool to find short capacitors on motherboards : shorty with display

Yet to be seen... afaik not yet available (central & east EU members).
That's a possibility i'm hopping for in a near future (since the exclusion on small values (less than 20€, including shipment)...

Re: New tool to find short capacitors on motherboards : shorty with display

Agree... but that's not the main issue here! Plus, not only items from [email protected], crap junk or not, are affected.
See below...

Yes, carriers take a substantial cut when it comes to packages with...

Re: New tool to find short capacitors on motherboards : shorty with display

Yes the new EU VAT rules (January 1 or Jun 1, 2021) are a really f*cking pain in the a**.
No more exclusion on small values (less than 20€, including shipment).
In practice, this means that even...

Plus the resistor will keep burning

Stay SAFE and away from obvious hazards!!!

Re: Archer C9 V.4 Can ch341a be used for programming a 16pin Winbond w25q128fv

SOP16 has an extra /RESET pin (pin 3).
Therefore, as it might not be wired on the PCB to pin 1, connect both to pin 7,
i.e.: SOP16 pin 1 and pin 3 to SOIP8 pin 7.
See attached table.

Re: Need software for Intelligent universal programmer lk48

Re: cheap but good thermal paste?

Even with a good thermal paste for a CPU running all cores at full throttle a 10şC reduction won't be enough.
On a desktop the way to go was mentioned by clearchris...

Re: Software to analyze Video RAM faults on graphics cards?

GPU internal cache (RAM).
For very low image data (low color count, "still" image, low resolution, ...) it's enough to display readable information.

Re: Need software for Intelligent universal programmer lk48

Yes. Back in version 10.x, a couple years ago, found 99 occurrences to generate a pseudorandom number, either calling ´msvcrt.time' or 'msvcrt.srand´.

Re: cheap but good thermal paste?

Yes, it's possible. But it comes with 2 major drawbacks:
1. The price (obvious);
2.1 Silver based thermal paste => higher rate of electrical conductivity and capacitive value;
2.2 Liquid-metal...

Re: CH341a Serial Mode

The demo video mentions both: turn on the ignition key (power up the ASCW module) and don't.
Thus try out both!

Re: CH341a Serial Mode

... 80 bucks :eek:

The 5V pin on the ASCW unit. (btw, power up it too -the ASCW)
If you're using a cable adapter this is even more relevant.

From what i've seen on those files you want to...

Re: Can someone recommend a preheater for large boards (up to ATX size)

Socket desoldered with success THEN what...? Because soldering a new one will be...

Re: Can someone recommend a preheater for large boards (up to ATX size)

I'm not the best adviser on this subject...
That being established, the major short come will be the actual preheated plat size 260x240.
ATX motherboards usually take up to 300 cm or more in...
