Re: PS3 Super Slim PSU

How much is the current draw?

A whiny something shouldn’t be with the ps3 off. At least I do t think so. Maybe remove the wifi module and plug the ps3 psu in.

Re: PS3 Super Slim PSU

If you got a lab psu, you could feed the main board 5v, one or 2 amps and try to feel with you fingers if something gets hot. You also can douse parts of the main board with IPA and see if it...

Re: PS3 Super Slim PSU

Yeah, there is a short on the main board all right. Do you have tools like a constant voltage, constant current power supply, DMM, hot air etc?

Try to measure with your DMM in Ohms setting between...

Re: PS3 Super Slim PSU

You did pretty good so far. You discovered that the psu is loaded down by a short on the main board. The psu is fine. From here on it probably gets a little ugly.

Re: What is this device these guys jam into their PSU's??

I don't think it is a troubleshooting issue, rather being a parts availability issue.

Re: Samsung UN50F6300AF No Backlights

Measure the DCV on the back light connector. It should ramp up and then back down. If that isn't happening, disconnect the back lights from the PSU and check again. IF you still haven't gotten...

Re: TCL 55S405TBBA - backlights on, no video; T-con and main board replaced.

I'd be looking at the LVDS pairs with an oscilloscope, while flicking the menu on and off. That tells you the main board is o.k. Check for proper voltages on the tcon. On your TV there after the Tcon...

Re: What is this device these guys jam into their PSU's??

That is in line with with what I said earlier. It's for simple power supplies. I am aware of the 300VDC input limitation, but for a simple PSU who cares. Maybe I should be trying one of these in the...

Re: LN46A530 Backlights Flash

i am still thinking it's one of them transformers. There is always a transformer pair per ccfl. Usually they can't be far apart. the pair reading 387 on one and 406 for the other would be my suspect.

Re: Lg 50lb659y stuck in startup with lg logo.

reflow the main IC on the main board or bake the main board. These are known to have BGA issues as well.
