Because I am going by a different ic part number "ap3435" I can't be certain about what the exact output voltage on pin 7 should be, but it seems to be fine.

Yes u6 is an ic, it is a stepdown converter (post#4) What voltages do you have on its pins? Does it get hot to the touch?

It could be bad buffer boards, ysus possibly or even poorly seated ribbons between buffers & panel. but searching here others have reported bad panel as the issue with this model.

I believe that ic is similar to a ap3435, pin 1 (Vcc) can be connected to pin 8 (Vin), It is a step down converter from 2.7v to 5.5v input to 1.2 volts output on pin 7, check if pin 1,8 or7 are...

I checked a schematic for a pa4131-2 and it has a similar circuit with a BYV26E in that position, 1 Amp, 1000 volt
Does it look like these 1NU41 diodes......

It has nothing at all to do with electron flow, etc. It has to be with how the data gets read out. The data is still intact and not changed. If the data was changed all the freezing in the world...

That is most likely a bad cap in one of the low voltage regulators, It could be from one of the voltages derived from the flyback or it could be from the switching power supply.

I have no idea how freezing the ic works, I suspect there could be a fault during mfg. who really knows. In normal temperature the connection to a certain part of the die could be bad, freezing it...

Is the problem when using the tuner input or with the video inputs? If the problem is there with the video inputs, that eliminates any R.F. or I.F circuits, also does it effect the menu? many times...
