No, you can see that you have 4 of those ferrite beads all connected in parallel to chassis GND in that section. Yo can easily check the resistance of those ferrite beads, it will be like dead...

It sound like the BL-ON is not present to turn on the boost converter circuit for the backlights or the boost converter has failed, still need pictures as requested.
BTW, you did put black wire back...

Do not ground the black wire of the LED to the chassis, the LED return wire is not connected to ground directly, it goes to ground via PWM controlled MOSFET and current sensing resistor.

This LCD panel has tab bonding boards on the bottom edge of the panel, they can get damaged from cleaning liquid sprayed on the panel and dripped down on to the tab...

Cane we see the bottom side of the board so we can see how that diode is connected in the circuit.
Try lifting one leg off the board and re-test the diode.

If you do, what is the Vf of each LED string?
BTW, the bad LED, was it shorted or open?

What mode did you set the meter to? Diode mode? Ohm mode?
Meter does not beep if it sees open circuit, you need to read your meter user manual.
Short your meter probes together and see what it does.

The burnt up cap is a snubber cap for the DIODE DP802, the cap is connected in parallel with DP802, so to check the DP802 you just use the two solder pads of cap CP820 (Removed) for testing DP802....

Also need the P/N of the LCD bias power supply ICD1 (on the left side of the board)?
