Well this is all the inspiration I need, what values did you have in mind and you you be prepared to send said samples for 'testing' I can currently manage 30 volts at 20 amps or 60 volts at 15 amps....

Your probably right there, most of the component pulls I make when servicing and repairing electronics are already known to me as bad. This is probably why I have yet to obtain a decent LCR / ESR...

I have been using function generator / scope to test ESR and will until such time as I can locate either a suitable ESR meter or LCR bridge.

Find osk.exe and rename it to osk.bak

Yeah no I would choose Fluke over a Hioki every day for the above reasons, and regarding the 'scope function' I think it only displays up-to 200khz waveform if I read the spec correctly.

Not one I would want, look around for a decent second hand Fluke some of the models can be had for similar amounts on the second hand market, well minus the scope(y) thing anyways.

intended for use with clansman series, these tend to run off 24 volts, I believe also used in aviation coms.
