Re: Lenovo G40-70 backlight no image

Hi, if you have a white screen, then what voltage do you have on pin 21 of the screen connector (JEDP1) on the motherboard, you should have 3.3 VDC?

Re: Lenovo Yoga 910 Charging Problem

I have read your answer and think that your point of view to repair a motherboard is too strong, which I would say that you think your point of view is the best to fix a motherboard. Depending on the...

Of course, but I have to reread what is your problem and what I wrote. We will resume where we left off.

Re: toshiba satellite c855-1kx no picture lcd

Can you take a good picture so that we can read the number on the chips in the LCD connector area?

Re: toshiba satellite c855-1kx no picture lcd

If you look at page 25, if it's similar, you have the U1 chip that powers the LCD. If you have this chip, measure the voltages for all the pins.

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

But the motherboard does not work! You need 3.3V for the RTC section.

Re: Sony Vaio Z40UL MB Faulty onboard RAM

Hi, you have the RAM number written on the chip, why you don't change the chip for a new one instead of disabling the RAM on the board, it will be easier to do so.

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

The best way is still with the reading of the resistance to find those capacitors, if you look at page 23 of the schematic, they are in parallel, so you need to find three in parallel and they are...

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

If you still have the 3.3V on pin 3 of PU100, then the short is on the pin 1 of PD5. You can check CH50, CH51 and CH52, maybe on of them is short to ground.

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

Sorry, but it was between pin 1 and ground and pin 3 and ground of PD5, you said you have 3.3V at pin 3 of PU100 without PD5, which means that the short is after PD5, that's why I asked you to remove...

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

You said in your message #41 "Removing PC101, makes Pin 3 report at 180 Ohm now" and at #43 "Still only 1.2V.." What resistance do you have on pins 1 and 3 of PD5, always without power.

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

At this point, there is no need, PL101 is on the rail +3VALWP and you check the +3VLP. When you remove the PD5 diodes, you separate the other capacitors, this way you know that the problem is not...

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

You can try to find the capacitor CU26 which is connected to the ground, you also have PD5 diodes connected to +RTC_CELL, which is connected to CH50, CH51 and CH52 to ground. If you remove PD5 and...

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

Better, but when you put the power, what voltage do you have on pin 3 of PU100?

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

You put a probe on pin 3 of PU100, and the second probe you put it on the capacitor, when you have zero ohm, it is the one, and at the terminals of the capacitor you find the 12 ohms.

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

Yes, you could have a leaky capacitor like PC101 and CU26, remove the PC101 and measure the resistor on pin 3 again, you can continue with the components that are connected to the ground.

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

When measuring the resistance, always remove all the power from the motherboard, if you can, change PU100.

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

When you have the VIN=19.5V, you should have the output VREG3 at 3.3V to power the EC chip and the ON/OFF button, now you have 1.2V. Check the resistance on the VREG3 (pin 3) to ground to see if you...

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

Thanks to Johndill who provided the schematics for the LA-B753P, the PL101 is a 2.2μH inductor and the PL102 is a 3.3μH inductor. The voltages are different because the PU100 can be defective.

Re: Help a newbie with his first project

Sorry I did not mention that before, did you put back the coils? If not, put them back and remeasure the pins, I don't think that will change anything. For the ground, any place on the motherboard is...
