Re: Supermicro P6DGU Retro Build

This one is complete. I filled the 2x fan ports with some fans I scavenged from a junk powmax PSU...if anyone remembers 'powmax', the fans were the only thing in one of these pieces of crap that...

Re: Supermicro P6DGU Retro Build

I usually just clean it up with a scotchbrite pad and leave it at that. If not stored in a humid place, it won't get any worse. If you want to paint/restore it, you have to grind it out (like you...

Re: reset password windows 10

...or boot off windows 7 or linux media and go through the format & install process....that's the best way to eliminate a w10 password, and w10 with it. ;)

Re: Supermicro P6DGU Retro Build

Started putting it together....This motherboard fit the case like a glove. Every standoff lined up. Motherboard headers didn't even need any modifications. This one is going too easy!

Re: Supermicro P6DGU Retro Build

^ I would totally take that case if you still have it!

This is the PSU (which I won't be reusing):

Re: Supermicro P6DGU Retro Build

This case does have a weird 'mini PSU', but the sleeve it's in is a standard ATX PSU cutout, so I can use any PSU in this.

Re: more win10 fuckings

I remember downloading SP6 for Win NT4 from a 56k connection. IIRC, a whopping ~35mb service pack.....

How big would a W10 SP be? Add a couple zeros to that 35.....sad.

Re: Supermicro P6DGU Retro Build

I bilk most of that stuff. Hot air SMT station has them off in seconds.

Add in quirky chipsets and other strange things....that's always been a weird waterloo of AMD stuff....there was always a...

I recapped a lot of 370DLE/DL3 suprmicros with those fake NRSY crap caps. I've probably gotten a few of these in back in the day, but being customer property, I really didn't pay much attention...

Re: Dual Celeron Weirdness Build....

That looks like a trusty serverworks chipset. :D I always liked them..they weren't the most efficient, they were extremely stable!

Re: Dual Celeron Weirdness Build....

You could have ran a pair of SL5QW's in slotkets, P3's @ 1100/100. 100MHz core speed hit, but still get 256k full speed L2, and 2 CPU's! :D I've got a pair of those running in a P2B-D.
