Re: Compaq PDP-121P - Baked MOV

If there is 2.5 volts on each pin of the optocoupler on the secondary side, the difference in voltage is 0 so the internal diode is not lit and the primary side will act open circuit so no vcc
The...

Re: Faultfinding a Denon AVR-1910 in protection mode

Look at the first picture in your first post, See that upright board with the large heatsink mounted to it? that is the output board. If you look at that board you will see a small white 2 pin jack...

Re: Icom PS-15 power supply

XZ-051 is just 1 5.1 volt 1 watt zener diode. D4 & D5 could be any general purpose 1 amp diode like 1n4007

Re: Yamaha YST-C10 stereo capstans run for 10 min when unit is turned on

Pins 9 & 10 are ground (see the schematic), not the pin on the right, that is pin #1 and should be -15vdc. If you don't have the meter negative lead on ground, the voltages don't mean anything....

Re: Yamaha YST-C10 stereo capstans run for 10 min when unit is turned on

It should be obvious that the voltages from the transformer are ok because the unit is basically working. If there is a problem it is likely with the DC voltage that supplies the cassette deck...

Re: Antec EA-430D 5VSB issue

What is wrong with D901 and ZD901? They are likely ok and just black from the ic's blowing. ZD901 is likely a tvs diode (similar to a P6KE200A) and would check open. D901 is likely a Fr107. The...

Re: Compaq PDP-121P - Baked MOV

The ic will be the same, the only difference is the N suffex which refers to the package (DIP). I suspect there will be a small electrolytic on the vcc line, I would replace it as well.

You do realize this update is for 2007 dlp tv? If your tv has been working this long, a firmware update is not likely going to fix whatever problem it has.
But if you want to, the unzipped files are...

Re: Faultfinding a Denon AVR-1910 in protection mode

There is likely nothing wrong with the regulator ic's . It just looks like a bit of dust on the heat sink compound.

Re: Faultfinding a Denon AVR-1910 in protection mode

The fault is likely in one of the outputs, One the output board there are small 2 pin plugs, check the voltage on one of the pins as you turn on the amp, this voltage should be close to zero volts,...

Re: Cannot identify Diode

It is a Littlefuse SMDJ20A TRANSIENT VOLTAGE SUPPRESSOR, It can be removed from the circuit to check operation, it is there for protection from voltage spikes so it should be replaced.

Re: RX V380 Yamaha with intermittent DC protection fault

You likely have a poor solder connection in the left channel, that is the channel with the high Dc offset. Check this DC OFFSET voltage for this channel when the amp is working, is it still -6v~-25v...

Re: TCL 55C803 - Powers on, good picture, then shuts off

I don't know the wattage, You should be able to tell by looking at the original one, likely 1/2 watt flame proof

Re: TCL 55C803 - Powers on, good picture, then shuts off

You can try replacing just the resistor, but what can happen is when the source resistor R306 goes open it is because the mosfet shorted D~S and once R306 is open there is 160vdc on the mosfets...

Re: backlight tester malfunction

If the diode checks shorted, It could be all that is wrong, the mosfet might be ok. Can you show which diode is shorted?

Re: TCL 55C803 - Powers on, good picture, then shuts off

13v on the source would suggest the source resistor is open. It might be R306 (0.15Ω). The gate resistor seems to be 22Ω 220) It is very likely that the ic is bad, when the source resistor opens, it...

Re: backlight tester malfunction

I would check the mosfet? near the red output plug, then check the diodes in that area. Also check for any poor solder connections.
If you only had the tester for a short time, contact the supplier...
