Re: What do you think about this flux?

Ok, I've ordered some of the 559 from Rossman. Stuff is expensive ($27shipped), so I hope it does wonders like most seem to think

What do you think about this flux?

I'm definitely a newbie when it comes to using flux in the paste form. What is your opinion on this stuff which I'm currently using? Is there something similarly priced that you find better? ...

Re: asus x451UA no ACOK

I finally got this thing to work!!! I apparently do not know how to properly solder a QFN IC, as I tried replacing the charger IC again (I've soldered/unsoldered this about 20 times), and this time...

Re: asus x451UA no ACOK

I'm still fighting with this board......It's now at a point where it works on Batt or AC adapter, but when both are active, I get no charging of the batt, and also the CPU is limited (multiplier...

Re: USB data lines

Just a little update: I decided to try a USB 3.0 stick in the USB3 port, and it worked. Seems that just the USB2 devices aren't recognized, and have to do with that one D+ line that appears to be...

Re: USB data lines

I have not tried a keyboard, but did try a flash drive. The flash drive LED lights up solid, but no sign of blinking LED as if it was reading/writing to it. The same flash drive works in another...

Re: USB data lines

Here is a pic of the mobo with the area circled in red for both USB2 and 3. USB3 doesn't even have the 0ohm resistor pack, but has a hard trace between pads

Re: USB data lines

Not sure if you are asking me for the actual chip ID #s or if you are just wondering if I'm talking about the chip reference.

Yes, I'm referring to the D5201 and D5203, which are both not...

USB data lines

I have this Asus X541UA mobo in which both the USB2 and 3 ports don't work (aren't recognized in BIOS or in Win10). The 5V is there, but one of the data lines reads low (.2V in diode mode, where...

Re: Recommended hot air soldering Technique

I can make it "dance" for sure. Usually tap it with the tweezers and it falls back into place, so I would think that is good. Do you usually also press down on it, or just let it float?

Re: Recommended hot air soldering Technique

Ya it wouldn't surprise me if I've damaged the board as I've probably tried 5 different BQ chips, and reheated each chip a few times. I think I might declare this one a parts board, and work on...

Re: swapping non-touch for touch

Well, it worked no problem, just lost the touch capability. While swapping I noticed that there is a different part number for the lcd cable for touch than the non-touch. As suspected the 30 pin...

Re: Recommended hot air soldering Technique

Thanks for all the suggestions.....The problem with me testing on a scrap board is I really don't know if all the pins are making proper contact, as I can't power it up and test signals.

It will...

Thanks, I just didn't want to apply power until after I had done some diode measurements around the board, and this is the first time I've come across the CPU showing 0.00V although it showed 6ohms,...

I have two boards with i3 - 7th gen on then. They are from an Asus X541uv rev 2 board.

Re: Recommended hot air soldering Technique

Re: asus x451UA no ACOK
