Please read this forum carefully. It doesn't matter whether the power cable is connected or not. Heat up the heatsink and then try to power on your monitor. If the monitor works fine, I recommend to...

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

I think there are 2 possible causes. Maybe your T-Con board, or your LCD panel is faulty. I would try to replace the T-Con board first, because these board aren't very expensive. When you LCD panel...

Re: Samsung 2493HM - Power button blinking: BN44-00195A & BN41-00962A

Tonight, I repaired this power supply. I replaced two faulty FET's (FQPF9N50C) and the 0.22Ohm resistor. Besides, I desoldered the transformer between the FET's and IC MC33067P and removed all the...

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

Hi AlaskaCC, great that you fixed your monitor with the replacement part. As mentioned above, the problems are caused by the big chip (with the big heatsink on it). I replaced this mainboard for my...

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

Hi AlaskaCC, I am afraid you purchased a bad 2408WFP and maybe your seller was aware of these problems before selling this monitor to you. I repaired about 3 2408WFP monitors and in all cases I had...

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

Hi dbrubeck,

Another forum member (YulCmr) did some really interesting research lately. He did an X-Ray photography to check whether or not bad solder joints were present on the board. And the...

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

Ok, that is great. But for a double check, you should cool down your monitor completely and check if it turns on again.

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

Hi Biessea,

try to heat up the heatsink on the mainboard and see whether the monitor powers on. I think you have the same problem as other forum members here.

Never buy a Dell monitor again...

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

Hi YulCmr and Locki. I read your last posts now. It's good to know that the solder balls on the BGA chip are ok after the x-ray photography, so reflowing this chip will be wasting your time... I am...

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

When you put this board back in the monitor and fix it with the srews, then you can use the chassis for COLD ground. When you measure the other lines of CN701 with the positive lead of your voltage...

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

You should also check all the SMD (zener) diodes. There could be one in short circuit. What output voltage do you measure?

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

Hi YulCmr,

Yes, I reflowed the chip. But it didn't work. After cooling down the chip, the problem occurred again.

When the heatsink is cold, the monitor didn't start up in my case. Even the...

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

Ok, but also check some other (SMD) components around the IC that drives the gate of 2SK3548. If there is a faulty one, the 2SK3548 can go down again...

Re: Dell 2408WFPb / 2408WFP - No Power

Hi Locki, I think you should check all components around the 1203P60 IC. Thus also the SMD components on the other side of the board (diodes, zener diodes, resistors, etc...). Good luck!
