Re: Will recapping an ASUS Xonar DG change sound quality?

Thank you for all the responses to my question.

My primary purpose of replacing the Lelon caps with Panasonic caps was to improve the physical quality of my sound card, with Lelon being a known...

Will recapping an ASUS Xonar DG change sound quality?

Recently I purchased an inexpensive ASUS Xonar DG PCI sound card, and so far it works nicely, making my games and music sound much better than the VIA VT1708S onboard audio that I had been using for...

Re: "POWER PC" ML915 350W power supply

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I've got more news on this power supply.

I finally have a decent PC setup to install it in (after a year):
Intel Core i3-540 3.06GHz dual-core processor...

Re: Newer stuff that isn't better

Well let's hope the 2nd-generation "Piledriver" FX-series processors are a viable competitor to Intel's mid-range Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge offerings, just like how AMD's Phenom II was a good...

Re: Newer stuff that isn't better

I'd have to say AMD FX regarding this topic; despite the higher-end FX-8150 having "eight cores" (four Bulldozer modules), their single-threaded performance is abysmal, being beat sometimes by its...

Re: Favourite Computer Components

CPUs: I currently am a fan of both AMD's Phenom II series and Intel's Core i5/i7 series processors... not too big of a fan on the latest AMD FX processors

Motherboards: I swear by ASUS, GIGABYTE,...

Re: Rasurbo RBP-450CL power supply's erratic behaviour

I like the metallic purple "P4-450W" power supply they have in their picture with other power supply models.

Re: Fake primary capacitors

And now with decently-built power supplies from respectable brands (FSP, Seasonic, Antec Basiq series, etc.) that are priced between $40-$60, I believe their is really no reason to purchase $20-$30...

Re: Fake primary capacitors

This looks like a very good reason not to go all cheap and purchase some $30 "500W" power supply; they come equipped with components that don't live up to their ratings!

Re: Fake primary capacitors

I had some genuine United Chemicon SMG 560uf 200V general-purpose caps ordered from Digikey that were used to replace the KDC 560uf 200V caps in my POWER PC 350W power supply, and the UCC caps felt...

Re: Fake primary capacitors

After seeing this thread, I decided to pull out my father's old BK Precision 875A tester and test a pair of cheap "KDC" 560uf 200V primary caps taken out of my brand-new generic "POWER PC" 350W power...

Re: Yet another victim of Antec! Q about cap replacement or RMA

I've actually had good experiences with using Antec-branded power supplies, apart from the Fuhjyyu-laden CWT built units. Antec's High Current Gamer and High Current Pro lines of power supplies come...

Re: 7300GT smd cap knocked off causing instability

The 7300GT is old and slow anyway; an inexpensive NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS or ATI Radeon HD 5450 replacement (cards in that class) don't cost much.

Re: LGA775 CPU's...

LGA775 is going to be a thing of the past, just like Socket 478 when LGA775 first came out. LGA775 was still the socket of choice in budget builds up until around now with the Wolfdale Celerons and...

Re: "Delta Power" MAX-500ATX 450W power supply (not real Delta)

Thank you for your informative post momaka. My 4600+ is an ADO4600IAA5CU part and actually consumes just 65W, as it was one of the energy-efficient models that AMD made of the 90nm Windsor-based...

Re: "Delta Power" MAX-500ATX 450W power supply (not real Delta)

I almost forgot that I had a not-gutless Antec Neo ECO 400C power supply leftover from my PSU replacement the other day in my primary PC, so I'll use that instead of either my Delta Power and POWER...

Speaking of fake Sanyo caps...

Good ol' Dealextreme got 'em, in 20-packs of 3300uf 10V, 3300uf 6.3V, and 1000uf 6.3V.
