that part number looks like a yate loon 120mm sleeve bearing fan. consider yourself lucky that its an open sleeve bearing fan so its serviceable if it fails! most modern sleeve bearings are now all...

Re: unknown (solid?) caps on MSI "military class" graphics card?

its more for reasons of planned obsolescence again. its to ensure the board outlasts the warranty. and since its a mid-end board, they are cutting corners in a smart way. u dont need costly japcaps...

Re: Replacing 8 Caps on motherboard and 2 on PSU - which ones are good replacements?

the issue with polymers is that they dont come in such high capacitance, 3300F, as required by the board. the highest for polymers is 2700F. another issue is that the cpu vrm for the board uses a...

Re: unknown (solid?) caps on MSI "military class" graphics card?

according to the datasheet, these are low-profile, small footprint 6.3mm caps, so because they are so small, there's no space to print the logo. if u look at the datasheet pictures of the printing...

Re: Poly modding an old Shuttle, question about non-VRM caps.

well thats quite a way below the 200w estimation so its good. i think the issue was busting the 250w limit of the psu which prolly wont happen. 163w is barely 65% of the power limit of the psu so its...

Re: Poly modding an old Shuttle, question about non-VRM caps.

well, i was wondering if a rubber band of the appropriate size and strechiness would work well as an intermediate ghetto fix stop gap to get the tray working and loading right again. i...

Re: Badcaps.net Origin & Roots - Topcat's VP6 Thread!

Re: Badcaps.net Origin & Roots - Topcat's VP6 Thread!

Re: Poly modding an old Shuttle, question about non-VRM caps.

yes i understand your plight. it really is a crapshoot if it should be polymodded or not. but from the pics u posted, nearly all of the caps are in potential hotspots around the board. u have caps...

Re: Poly modding an old Shuttle, question about non-VRM caps.

careful! this board may not take kindly to polymodding due to the coils in the cpu vrm. the vrm coils look like they have 6 or more turns which means the vrm uses a low switching frequency and this...

Re: MSI 694T caps replacement
