Re: RAID5 failure: 2 bad HDD's at the same time

No, not all of my contents are lost. I was able to borrow another similar NAS. Over Prime Day on Amazon I've ordered 4 new HDD's. Plan is to "replace" the old raid with a new raid. Basically the old...

Re: RAID5 failure: 2 bad HDD's at the same time

I can clone it with dd or Clonezilla no problem, but my NAS sees it as a new HDD.

I have something real stupid too on my Asus Z97 WS. Sometimes the computer running linux will just "hang" after 30mins or an hour. Rebooting this will resolve in a constant boot loop withing the...

Re: Cable Modem Repair - Why Do They Fail?

Re: RAID5 failure: 2 bad HDD's at the same time

Re: RAID5 failure: 2 bad HDD's at the same time

Interesting... So you are saying to clone the bad HDD's in the RAID 5 array with clonezilla to a new drive and put it back into the array? I thought the array knows the HDD by serial number or...

Re: RAID5 failure: 2 bad HDD's at the same time

Well, drive 2 is FUBAR. Won't read from it period. Not sure why Drive 3 has some bad sectors and I was able to get the important stuff off the Raid5. So that is good. However I am not able to recover...

RAID5 failure: 2 bad HDD's at the same time

Well, I guess I ran out of luck and shit hit the fan all right at home, ugh! :nutkick:
I am running a WD PR4100 16TB NAS. All was good until I noticed some slow file transfer occasionally. Done a...

Re: Universal Programmer Recommendation

It depends on what you want to do. I have both, since one can do something the other can't and the same thing other wise around. If you want to play with EMMC's than the RT809H is your pick. If you...

Re: vending control board

first off, i'd re-seat everything that is socketed. Why doesn't it run? Is there power going to the board, is there any voltage on these large caps?

Re: Isolation transformer

I found plenty isolation transformers in a regional ham flea market. I've got one, but hardly use it. I guess that depends on what one repairs.

Re: MFJ 994BRT (remote Antenna tuner)

I had forgotten about sending the power in the coax feature. On the SGC-230 etc you need to put a separate power and control cable.

Re: MFJ 994BRT (remote Antenna tuner)

not these ones. They go outside and are automatic tuning. Look at this MFJ or SGC-230. These are more efficient, since you are tune there where it matters, at the antenna. Think of it as an...

Re: MFJ 994BRT (remote Antenna tuner)

usually they are easy to repair if the damage is in the tuning section. There isn't much there and that's a good thing.

Re: Samsung Samsung UN55D6050TF-Power Supply Pulsing, I think.

all I can think of is try to turn the back lights down as far as they go and see if something changes compared to running the back lights on full tilt.

Re: MFJ 994BRT (remote Antenna tuner)

Haven't come across "a one band not working" on big automatic antenna tuners like that. I am guessing a cold solder joint on an inductor, bad relay or a smoked HV tuning capacitor in the tuning...

Re: Norstar NT5B01 power supply

Had another NT5B01 here that would blink the red PSU LED after 10 to 15 mins. Since it failed after it ran for a bit, it had to be an IC. Went looking with my desoldering station and found the PWM...

Re: Funai Model LC220EM2 PS Issues

The Mosfet I picked is a direct replacement. Not sure if I can find something better than the BC337 to replace the driver transistor.

Re: Funai Model LC220EM2 PS Issues

R602 is fine. Don't worry about that. The BC337 has a different pin out than the original transistor. You could leave one of the legs longer and bend them to the pin out you need.
