On Linux runing on a hard drive, I am using Mint on the lap top I am typeing this from . The iso is like 1.9 gig , 2 something running with all the swap files.

If you do want to switch from windows to a Linux disto , I would say go with Mint . Its easy to set up and use . I can post more if asked .

I remember a dish washer that looked like that after a rat did its stuff. Along with tearing up the sec. and a bunch of the hoses. I told the lady to buy a new dish washer.

Yea , I have had a puppy too . I dont know what this costs . You could either buy a new one or go the solder and heat shrink route with each wire .

The sat. antennas are used around 12 ghz . , but I dont think that stops them from working as 2.4 ghz .

I have some old sat. antennas . I have a plan in my head of a bracket and clamp where the lnb mounted . There are a few buildings between and any free wifi so I dont know if this will work...
