Can#t confirm that for my CECH-2104A Slim, wich at one point had a 500GB Samsung 850 EVO in there, right now there is a 500GB Seagate Slim Laptop Drive, wich probably is SATA3...

Desoldering downwards shouldn't be an issue, even if it is fighting against gravitiy, a good tool shouldn't have much problem with that. Even my LF-8800 crap shit thing didn't.

They are just OK, EVGA doesn't bring anything interesting to the table.
The fans they use aren't that great either, fan noise is also not great.

Well, I don't because its the older, higher ESR KY (for a low ESR) series, not a low impedance one IIRC.

So I'd like to see more modern cap choice with lower ESR like KZH or even KZE
