Re: Spectra S1+ Breast pump - No suction

What isn't today? :p: They are putting "smart" MCUs in everything.
Also, haven't you seen Demolition Man, the movie? With the way things are headed with VR and smart technology... and now with...

Re: Spectra S1+ Breast pump - No suction

Was there a thin wire inside the thin clear tube as well? If so, this might be some kind of shielded wire. Or it could also be that the clear tube inside was for reinforcement... though I'm leaning...

Re: Original Xbox Replacement Caps

KZE -> very very reliable
I would leave them.

I still don't see half of the images from the offsite links, but the one that did load up eventually... yep 100% fake indeed.

jayjr1105, can you...

Re: Spectra S1+ Breast pump - No suction

Do any of the resistor leads of R21 or R30 connect to top pin of Q9? If not, what about Q11? I'm curious what drives Q7.

Hmm. So the 0-4V fluctuation is consistent with the clicking?
Can you...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

IDK :why: Alt-PrintScreen works fine for me - just screeshots only the active Windows I have open. But maybe across multiple monitors, it gets tripped up? I'm a single-monitor guy, so I'll probably...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

All these years using Windows, and I still never knew this one. Thanks, I learned something useful today. I suppose my expert cropping skills in MS Paint will no longer be needed as much. :jester:

Re: Spectra S1+ Breast pump - No suction

Those look OK, I suppose, particularly U4.

Try the device with the power adapter instead of the battery. Perhaps L1 then might have a different voltage.

It may cause a problem, depending on...

Re: Spectra S1+ Breast pump - No suction

That means driver chip is likely not shorted.

No, just similar capacitance values or somewhere in the ballpark (up to +/-50% will probably be OK.) Since device is operated at 12V, you don't...

Re: Sony Hit Bit MSX HB-75B restoration repair attempt

Yup, that's the standard procedure for almost anything dumpster-picked or 2nd hand device I get here. Warm water + soap detergent + let it dry under the sun for a few days usually gives pretty good...

Re: Spectra S1+ Breast pump - No suction

Try measuring the resistance between Source and Gate, then report back what you get. Make sure battery and power source are both removed when doing these measurements, so they don't impact the...

Re: Spectra S1+ Breast pump - No suction

No, to turn a P-ch MOSFET On, you ground the Gate if Source is connected to the positive output of the PSU.

With Gate Voltage = Source Voltage, P-ch MOSFET will be off.

Remove out of the...

Re: Spectra S1+ Breast pump - No suction

Well, that is the question: does the pump use DC or not? And voltage requirement.

To answer those, have a look on the PCB to see if it reveals any clues. If the black wire (negative terminal?)...

Re: Spectra S1+ Breast pump - No suction

Does the pump use a simple DC motor? (Looks like it, as it's only a 2-wire connector?) If so, does it turn when you power it with an external power source. Surely the first step would be to make sure...

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

If there is clear line of sight between the two sites, what about implementing some kind of laser comms? Though I imagine that would require at least periodic checking of the laser alignment between...

That works! :D

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

LOLLOLLOL. :goofy:

So, based on the pics, I think we can rule out it being a counterfeit or cheapo China built.

PCB is marked "Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Model: c468", which is legit PCB for...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

HD8k series was never officially released as stand-alone desktop video card - at least not from 3rd parties. From what I gather, only a select few OEM PCs ever came with these. They aren't popular....

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

9500 GT (G96) is just a shrunk down core of the 8600 GT / GTS (G84), so they perform similar. 9600 GT (G94) is a little different - it's not quite as good as the 8800 GT / 9800 GT, but a lot better...

Re: Task TK-940TX-DF Blowing fuse

That's what I'm wondering too.
It looked all fine, then some parts were reinstalled and things went haywire.
As long as the bridge rectifier is providing DC, and the voltage across the primary caps...

Fingers crossed... again. :D

I used to use that trick with cheaper sticks of RAM that would otherwise crash / not work.

If you still experience occasional crashing (but less frequently), you...

Re: Current flowing through transistor even when base is shunted to ground.

Yeah, I know.
Sorry for being the party pooper. :D

On the other hand, if O/P doesn't have a bench PSU with good or any current limiting, that test could end up like some of ElectroBOOM's videos...

Re: Abit BX133-RAID odd issue, bad caps?

Yeah, the first few times always takes a bit longer and you're always more careful. After a while, though (if you do this often enough), you kind of start to remember which cap series are good for...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

Yeah, that be the one you posted a few pages back I presume?
ATI stepped up their game a lot with the 4800 series, coming from the 3870 which would in many cases perform worse than a 9600 GT. That...
