Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

Looked like Thoroughbred and Barton had a working sensor as well as later socket 462 motherboards (mostly 2003 and 2004, maybe some in late-2002)

But, I never let them get to the shutdown point. ...

Re: Asus x501A strange problem

Sounds just like when I OC'ed my 65nm Core 2 Duo and didn't enable CPU load line calibration on my Asus P5QL Pro motherboard, IIRC. Albeit the one mentioned, is ATX.
Without load line calibration,...

Re: Not Even BCN's Russia Connections Can Top This One - Supermicro S2DGU Build

Even in 2018, IIRC, I did that. I plan to do that again later on this year!

Re: ASUS BIOS Downloads Source wanted

Looks like the problem on the right, is NoScript not configured correctly and thus blocking required functionality, likely a JS.

Re: Power supply build quality pictorial. part 2

2007=Only a bit older than the FSP 500W PSU that I last had in a 2014 FX Vishera system. Mine was plain-looking, but was solid like the BlueStorm, even if the biggest heatsink was thinner. The...

Re: Has anyone seen a curved line like this on an LCD screen?

Well, the second one has a line resembling the first one, but it looked shorter and was more horizontal. Along with 4K & HDMI troubles, apparently, I just sent it back and got the Ryzen stuff.

Re: Phillips 42PF7421D/37 Chassis EL1.1U AA - 2 long, 5 short blinks no display

Is Phillips using a Sharp panel or uses the same error codes as Sharp? If true, then I suggest that you go here:

Could it be related to this?

Re: The 2020 Operating System Thread

Did Microsoft get their stuff together after Windows 10 build 18xx?

On the new Ryzen 3 system I built yesterday, I saw Windows 10 updating go through like nothing really happened!
No Windows...

Re: Has anyone seen a curved line like this on an LCD screen?

Just got an exchange for another one of the same manufacturer and model.
There's a curved line in the lower-left, too! But, it's in a different spot.
It's looking a lot like the way these get...

Re: Has anyone seen a curved line like this on an LCD screen?

About to take it back, because I fear I have a bad panel now.
Just picked it up today. It's the 43-inch variant of the Samsung NU6900:

Re: Indentifying caps on Biostar 945gz Micro775 se

Unrelated, but reminds me of my early-batch Wolfdale E8400, with the C0 revision, IIRC. That one rarely reports less than 45C or similar! But the temp doesn't go up much.

I don't recall my...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

I definitely don't go as far back as the 1960s! Heck, even in 1995, I was still new to computers! I was at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center (Greenfield) and I accidentally deleted the wrong...

Re: Indentifying caps on Biostar 945gz Micro775 se

Idle temp is on the high side, reminds me of my Northy on my MSI 845E Max, which idled at 45C. Those parts are long gone now. They were abandoned by the mid-2010s. Gives me the impression that...

Re: My Latest 8-core Project

How the feck can I stop that corrosion? I saw that the corrosion is particularly bad, at least on Western Digital HDDs since circa-2010!

Then I looked at one of my Seagate Barracuda HDDs from...

Re: My Latest 8-core Project

Speaking about HDDs, on Western Digital HDDs, I'm noticing what looks like a lot of corrosion!

Looks like corrosion, even on Blacks, too!

Re: Panasonic TC-P60ST60 Plasma TV 7 Blink Codes Help

Be thankful that it's a plasma TV!

If it were an LCD, especially Sharp of 5-7 years ago, it probably would be a bad panel driver. (mainly 2012-2014, possibly 2015) With the mentioned generation...

Re: hp 8760w wont turn on blinking led after replacing bios

If the BIOS corruption was because of malware, then it's highly likely that the BIOS gets re-contaminated when the drive is read!

Albeit the symptoms sound more like the RAM not having proper...
