Did you lift one leg of R104 off the board and check the resistance? It will take very high Voltage to burn up that 200K resistor and pin 8 of the IC has to also be shorted to ground.

R104 is not for the snubber, it is for input...

BTW, the picture of your board does not match with the diagram.
May be you should show the pictures of your board.

R104 in your board revision is 200K, it is part of RCD snubber network.

I wonder if it is ground loop problem. Do you hear the hum if the base audio input is not connected the TV audio line out?

No, you can see that you have 4 of those ferrite beads all connected in parallel to chassis GND in that section. Yo can easily check the resistance of those ferrite beads, it will be like dead...

It sound like the BL-ON is not present to turn on the boost converter circuit for the backlights or the boost converter has failed, still need pictures as requested.

Do not ground the black wire of the LED to the chassis, the LED return wire is not connected to ground directly, it goes to ground via PWM controlled MOSFET and current sensing resistor.

Cane we see the bottom side of the board so we can see how that diode is connected in the circuit.
Try lifting one leg off the board and re-test the diode.

If you do, what is the Vf of each LED string?
