Downloaded avr-toolchain-installer-3.2.3.579-win32.win32.x86.exe, and that installed Amtel folder (not "over the top of the...

Re: ESR meter upgrades

Thanks, that's better, but the makefile needs to have the rotary direction reversed.
Opened it in WinAVR Programmers notepad, and tried Tools> Make All
But it returned this output:
> "make.exe"...

Re: ESR meter upgrades

Before i bricked the chip, and got another one, after few minutes of practice, i found it easy to get any frequency between 1hz and 999khz - it's was just a matter of holding the button in a bit...

Re: ESR meter upgrades

Re: ESR meter upgrades

This is better because you can put in whatever frequency you want.
But why's the text a mirror image, and also upside-down? (at least on this meter)
so i went to...

Re: ESR meter upgrades

Thankyou very much
Works nicely (did you just comment out the flag?)
Noticed that ESR was not right after 1st calibration - but it came good after the 2nd calibration.

Re: ESR meter upgrades

What exactly needs to be added/changed in the makefile?
i really have no programming compiling skills except extremely basic stuff, that i've mostly forgotten.
Definitely don't know what a flag is....

Re: ESR meter upgrades

Ok, i see that that code is already the makefile.
How does one set this flag in the makefile?
Do i need to download a compiler?
Can it be done with windows XP and Codeblocks?

Re: ESR meter upgrades

GM328x ESR tester (SVN684) - small fonts.zip
Is there an easy way to change the operation of the rotary encoder, so that downwards movement through the menu corresponds with clockwise rotation?...

Re: ESR meter upgrades

Yeah,
Strapped terminals 1, 2, and 3, and removed them when said to isolate.
Then it asks for a cap greater than 100nf between 1 and 3, so i give it 25uf.
It then visually flashes the capacitance...

Re: ESR meter upgrades

i got an EZM one of these, same as in post #446.
And it was working fine.
But i thought that it tested voltages; so bricked the chip.
So got another chip and used a batch file to program it with...
