Re: ASUS TUF Z270 Mk 2 beeps with no ram but will not boot

OK so I contacted the tech support for the PCIe / LPC post diagnostic card as to why I get no POST data from this motherboard

Basically they suggested I have a chipset fault.

It's obvious the...

Re: Asus Prime Z270-P no Vcore

YES!! I have a result!

I took a half educated guess and fitted a 470R resistor in place of missing PR1063. I didn't bother with what looks like a missing capacitor PC1509 partly because I don't...

Re: Board View files - pay sites

Oh right, that was an old thread. I still have the motherboard on one side. I did briefly put a compatible CPU in and as I recall I got some other low Vcore voltage

I do have the boardview now,...

Re: Asus Prime Z270-P no Vcore

Where is VCCIO I can't find that? Maybe it has another name on my board

There is 3.3V on some of the capacitors integrated onto the north bridge and 1.02V on the others. The north bridge gets...

Re: Which Eprom programmer to buy

I have the TL866 which does not program 1.8V chips. So far it has done everything that I need but is it worth buying one of these EZP2019 programmers as well?

They are not that much more...

Re: Asus Prime Z270-P no Vcore

It just occurred to me that MBS_R0402 will be the size of the SMD resistor, nothing to do with the value DOH :duh:

What value to put in there? I don't think it would be critical...

Re: Asus Prime Z270-P no Vcore

Hi guys
I don't think that pinout is the same as my device as it only has 10 legs unless there are some pads underneath it. It's a bit of an odd shaped package, I don't know that that is called.

Hi guys

I have an Asus Prime Z270-P.

With no CPU fitted it will not start

With a Celeron G3900 CPU it starts but the CPU is cold and I have no Vcore

Those same PSU sometimes have differing brand names on them but I think they are all made in the same factory. I've had mine about three years and it's been fine. Pay with paypal and you can buy...

Re: Help asrock fm2a55m- vg3 missing 3.3v on ram

That motherboard is DDR3 so Vram is 1.5V not 3.3V

There will be a VRM that generates Vram from some other supply, 5V, 3V or 12V

You need to find that supply, it will probably be near the RAM...

Re: Anyone have schematic/boardview MS-6178?

Ahaa - as there is a diode like you say and I read a foreward biased diode junction from CMOS battery +ve to ground then it would make perfect sense from my little circuit diagram that I have a short...

Re: Anyone have schematic/boardview MS-6178?

Cheers, that makes sense.

If it was the case that the diode was leaky, would you expect the battery to stop discharging into 3VSB if the ATX PSU was connected but still in standby?

As I have...

Just to clarify, did you mean I will have something like this circuit and the two diodes could be discrete or a three pin dual diode component probably looking like a SOT-23?

I have direct...

Re: Anyone have schematic/boardview MS-6178?

I checked on my other meter and the drain from the cmos battery was 40mA. Way too much. I checked the RTC crystal and found it is not oscillating (nor is there any bias voltage to the crystal) so...
