Have you removed PS/2 mouse while computer was running?

PS/2 is not meant for hot swapping - doing so will likely blow a fuse on the motherboard

Many motherboards had self-resettable fuses, but...

To remove the Deoxit, I cleaned the pads with a typist's eraser pencil (from back in the day), then tinned them with 60/40, finally removing excess solder with Chemtools wick

FWIW, other weird behaviour is, if I short Reset pins on Front Panel header, more often than not there's a delay, then it powers off

Sort of - in that I'm currently trying it with a single 2GB DDR2-6400U

I usually make sure latches are pushed in, can only assume that one moved when it was having its picture taken

Left it alone for the tedious early stage, came back to a blue (only) screen and frozen

PSU stays On, regardless whether 4-pin connected
