Re: Sony KDL-46X3500 switches off and shows 5 red led diagnosis.

So it's a "Core 2 era" TV. I would check the caps.

Re: Electric mouse/rat trap power supply

I never saw YouTube having censorship with arcs. I bet Scripps TV shows have more censorship than many YouTube videos, LOL.

Re: Badcaps.net Origin & Roots - Topcat's VP6 Thread!

Sadly, it don't look like there's PCI-X, thus, you probably have "SCSI 133".

Just like when I found and used an Adaptec 29160 SCSI card briefly on a Coppermine motherboard (and later, tested it...

Re: 9900K WHEA LOGGER Internal parity error or cache hierarch error.

If OC'ing a late-gen Core i-series, it's usually just some more Vcore you need.

Then afterwards, if the CPU cache voltage is adjustable, increase the CPU cache voltage. (wouldn't be surprised if...

The second one on the left, looks like the inside of a bee hive, LOL!

(A.K.A. the "bee hive flux")

Re: AMD wins!

Still better then L1 being disabled, AFAIK. Disabling L1 would make even DOS slow, LOL.

Re: AMD wins!

Albeit my K6-2 450 sometimes suffered random errors at stock! Now, I think it was most likely the higher temps. And it's not typical to get errors, despite high temps, when stock!

Re: AMD wins!

Uh, reminds me of the earlier Pentium I stuff, even when it apparently carried on until at least 1995 or real close to 1995. (the floating point bug)

But I don't think it's quite as bad as that....

Re: PC motherboards without a 14.31818 MHz crystal

I heard that the 3 Mhz one isn't HPET.

Re: PC motherboards without a 14.31818 MHz crystal

Looks like that's the standard HPET granularity frequency.

Fun fact: Goldeneye chomped on the Nintendo 64 CPU! (And it probably does chomp on the CPU more than Perfect Dark!)

Re: AMD wins!

Reminds me of the "Bush Jr." era, where some people had HT-phobia. IIRC, back in the Pentium 4 era, (they were AKA "Pee 4") some people were telling other people to disable hyper-threading, accusing...

Re: Partitioning based on media transfer rate zones

That's what I do for RAID-0. (At least for the OS and games)

Need a bigger partition? Then just create another RAID array.

Re: Computer jobs that are like kicking yourself in nuts.

Reminds me that I'm glad I don't have an iPhone 6, because my mom's is the only known possibly OK one left.

All the other iPhone 6s in my family, were faulty in one way or another.

The iPhone...

Re: Gigabyte AB350-Gaming3

I wouldn't be surprised if you're screwed, because of the Ryzen 2-series having different electrical requirements, so the UEFI-BIOS always selects the wrong voltages.

Re: I'm getting windows 10

The driver problem I had, was sadly with SSDs! It seems that going back to a spinner, is a workaround.

Re: Problem power on computer (translated)

I saw this type of problem occur before, when the power goes out for just 1 second or the like. Then it goes into a state where the PC won't power up until I unplug the PSU and then plug it back in. ...

Re: Motherboards getting zapped by power outlets ?

That sounds like what I would expect with a loss of the neutral, or the neutral being resistive, which can make the fridge or another large appliance be as if it were connected in series, and thus...

Re: Motherboards getting zapped by power outlets ?

If the equipment uses just 1 hot leg, it needs a neutral. With the neutral missing or having a poor connection, devices using just one hot leg, can act like devices connected in series!

Yes, I...
