Re: Hot air machine question.

I'd guess around 330-340c. Maybe check YouTube to see if there are any tutorials for your station to give you a better idea.

The temperature you set it at isn't necessarily the temperature you'll have on the board.
Get a scrap board and play with the temperatures and air speed settings.

Re: Ratdude's Main Rig V5.6

I wasn't referencing your post but the extensions are for enterprises for deep pockets. Those that have legacy software. Microsoft have been very clear on the issue and it's been referenced several...

Re: Ratdude's Main Rig V5.6

Microsoft are offering a further 3 years of support for Windows 7 if you're an enterprise with deep pockets. I don't think it will take too long before they are available to others.

Re: How to diagnose whether a TV LED is bad (without using an LED tester)?

It would be a funny repair bench to have an oscilloscope and a logic analyser but no power supply.

Re: Need help with Shuttle SB83G5A - fans spin but that's all

That's interesting to know. I saw lots of those frames being sold and just assumed they were sold for the right reason. I guess it's similar to the spade sellers of the gold rush era, they don't care...

Re: Upside down bga reflow?

The tops of the processors in LGs and Samsungs are non ferrous, I'm guessing aluminium.

Even if it did transfer the heat, I think the weight of the board pressing down would deform the balls.

Re: ShopJimmy LED Strip Rework Station - Single LED Replacement Tool

It was 3.50 at the beginning of the week. Nothing like putting the price up just before a sale !

Re: Sony KDL-46X3500 switches off and shows 5 red led diagnosis.

Yes, it's quite clearly not a firmware issue. And sorry to correct you again but a typographical error is a specific thing. Incorrectly pressing a key or two with fingers that go to fast. Replacing...

Re: ShopJimmy LED Strip Rework Station - Single LED Replacement Tool

Is it because they are not affected by the voltage difference ? I tried controlling my PTC with a variac but it still got the same temperature.
Yes can confirm, setting the voltage to 120V with my...

Re: ShopJimmy LED Strip Rework Station - Single LED Replacement Tool

They work better if the screws and feet are mounted the other way round so they raise the plate off the worktop and the narrow middle piece is used for the heat rather than the larger size.
I have...

Re: Instrument Keyboard Faulty Screen Graphics help

Ceramic capacitor values aren't indicated by their size.
Are there any markings indicating its number, it's value might be in the service manual but it's not clear from that photo.

It's ok, they...

Re: Toshiba Satalite C850 lack screen after LCD replacement

Whilst there is no fuse fitted, something has acted like one. Did you check the resistors and capacitors connected to INV_PWM ? C3006, R3009, R3013, R3014.

Re: ShopJimmy LED Strip Rework Station - Single LED Replacement Tool

I do use a bench power supply for my testing so perhaps they are failing then rather than with the TV powering then. I haven't had any failures when testing for 24 hours
