Re: Samsung UN55F6300AFXZA appears dead, stand-by present, main board suspect

Yes it is BGA, but even if you had a rework station, obtaining a similar chip + programming it would probably outweigh the price/effort of a new board entirely. Common fault, not worth bothering IMO.

Talking Re: Directly replacing NiMh cells with Li-Ion cells - bad idea ?

I find it interesting that the same mod he attempted on a similar vac is still working...or at least it hasn't returned. I can't tell if that's because the chap simply didn't use it or they simply...

Thumbs up Re: Samsung UN55F6300AFXZA appears dead, stand-by present, main board suspect

Nope - flash IC is the NAND flash. The square chip right above the optical connectors if I'm not mistaken.

Aye. An UniT UT-210e. He's packed it back up unfortunately, so measuring stuff is no longer an option at this point I'm afraid...

Re: Directly replacing NiMh cells with Li-Ion cells - bad idea ?

Vac works once again with the LiIon "mod" and I have mixed feelings: first of all, he's tested it under light load conditions all this time. Once you activate those roller brushes and they start...

Re: Samsung UN55F6300AFXZA appears dead, stand-by present, main board suspect

The part toward which the arrow is pointing looks like the MICOM....could be wrong though. Others are free to correct me on this. Really interested to see if you can fix this, would be very...

Re: Directly replacing NiMh cells with Li-Ion cells - bad idea ?

Pfftt...it got even better: just yesterday I was strolling through a mall and found the Li-Ion version of this Electrolux ErgoRapido, exactly the same vac on the outside, for almost the same price...

Odyssey more like :D
Glad you're having fun. I sure am (I'm such an ass, aren't I ?). Just yesterday he rummaged through the box of wall-warts hoping to find one of lower voltage to try and replace...

Re: Sharp LC-52D64U hard to start

The OZ CCFL IC is a SOB to bypass the protection on...at least I personally couldn't do it, so I too would be interested how this all works out in the end - always a learning experience here on BC :D...

Re: Samsung UN55F6300AFXZA appears dead, stand-by present, main board suspect

Almost certain dead CPU, having worked with Sammies for several years now. When they don't have standby, I almost always stop right there and look for a replacement board. I've been fairly unlucky in...

Re: LVDS Cable removal

Is it a Sony by any chance ? That's where you tend to see these the most. I got stumped a lot too, until my colleague broke one and we realised, like others have said, you're supposed to push down...

Re: Soldering station thoughts and guidelines

In the 900m type, what's the difference between T-IS and T-S tips ? Google shows both of them are curved and the one I have is a T-S, still curved. The IS variant appears sharper and thinner ?

Talking Re: Directly replacing NiMh cells with Li-Ion cells - bad idea ?

UPDATE: here's the IC at last: a MC9s08sh8, so it's like a "computer" in there, making the job even harder, since it's likely going to do "UVLO" if he tries to modify just the incoming adapter...
