Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

Kind of strange 'drop-off' items....depending on what's in those boxes.

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

They came from 2 different sellers.

This is for an Asus P2b-D, trusty BX chipset, but hates 133FSB. These were 1100/100 CPU's, not easy to find cheap.... It still boggles my mind how they lose...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

Well this one turned out to be a bust.... USPS and their infinite stupidity lost one of the processors....so I'll have to keep an eye open for another one.

I tossed 4x 128mb SIMM's in it, RAM is now maxed. The scsi raid setup isn't playing nice, and performs awful.....but I have some more ideas!! :D

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

I too am impressed with this one. It prints fast and very crisp. My E260DN is fast, but its black only. my HP 2600 is slow as snot, but color laser. The thing I loved, the standalone driver is a...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

A cheap ebay score on 2 very rare CPU's.... Coppermine 1100/100 (SL5QW) FCPGA processors. They usually sell for ~$100-ish per CPU, I got the pair for a BIN under $30 shipped, new listing, the...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

One is a Duron 800/100, the other is an althon 1400/100. The 1400/100 is a bit of an oddball, and apparently kind of rare.

FWIW, this post created from a Dual Pentium classic 233MMX, testing...

Re: Cleaning Motherboards - ATTN SMOKERS!!

I did say *should* discharge... ;) On old television sets I'd service back in the day, if servicing power supplies, I'd just take a screwdriver and short the leads on those caps, just to make sure...

Re: Cleaning Motherboards - ATTN SMOKERS!!

Re: Cleaning Motherboards - ATTN SMOKERS!!

Same way you do a motherboard. Complete disassembly, hot water & simple green, and an air compressor to blow the water out of everything. I've cleaned a lot of them that way.

Here's a good...

Re: Paxville or Bust! The Supermicro X6DA8 Project

Just a little footnote for this thread for Momaka and his love of older PSU's... This one is an Enlight EN-470MP that was in the Enlight case from earlier in the thread. While I didn't use this PSU...
