Re: BGA Station - having some problems with profiles

No, braids are not created equal. I use Chemtronics, it's pre fluxed and is non scratchy like some of the cheap braids.
I've usually clear the old solder whilst the board is still hot and on the...

Re: BGA Station - having some problems with profiles

Add flux then push a nice ball of leaded solder around the pads, ideally without the tip touching the board. Remove the ball with your iron then use decent braid.

Re: BGA Station - having some problems with profiles

Did you verify the K thermocouple is accurate with a secondary device/probe?
You could try running a profile with a piece of leaded solder placed on the PCB. You'll be able to see what temperature...

Re: LG 60PM6700 no picture no sound

The test shows the whole of the TV is working apart from the mainboard and cable you have disconnected. You say you've put two new boards in, were they brand new ? Check both ends of the cable,...

Re: BGA Station - having some problems with profiles

Verify the temperature with a secondary probe and device.

Re: Panasonic TX-49DX600B Dead! TNPA6232 Power Board

Yes, I asked what IC8000 was to check the availability, I have a rework station.

As R_J has pointed out, you have SUB_ON. It seems it's just the 12v missing, IC8000 won't be dropping 16v to 12v,...

Re: testing a main board

Yes, they need to touch. Forget soldering, just shove in a piece of wire stripped at both ends.

Re: Samsung 46 model:UE46C675US

I'm not suggesting heat gun at this stage, it's got more than enough heat to do permanent damage. A hair dryer on high heat held close should have enough heat to cause a little bit of expansion but...

Re: Samsung 46 model:UE46C675US

The bigger of the two squares on the mainboard. Under the heatsink is the main processor. Around it are 6 black rectangles, these are the RAM.

It could be either the processor or piece of RAM...

Re: Samsung 46 model:UE46C675US

Yes, looks like a BGA (solder balls) problem under the main processor or a ram issue.

Re: JMB JT014001/01 main board problems

The heatsink on the Veatel's is either non existent or it's a flexible strip a solid heatsink is more than sufficien. I'm speaking from first hand experience.

Re: JMB JT014001/01 main board problems

Having done several reflows I've yet to have one come back. If it's lasted x years, there's no reason it shouldn't last another x years until it fails again. It will benefit from an aluminium or...

Re: LG 50LF561V LEDs

LGs lenses are like bloody lemmings, look at them the wrong way and off the pop.
It degrades over time with the heat, loosing it's grip on the little feet.

Re: LG 50LF561V LEDs

I'd want to ensure I could align the lenses correctly before replacing all 45 LEDs, they are a pain, with bright spots on the LCD if they aren't.

Re: LG 50LF561V LEDs

The ones I use are of a similar brightness but the colour is slightly off.

Having looked at old ones under the microscope, they are cracked and discoloured and moments away from death.

Re: LG 50LF561V LEDs

There answer was on the power supply.
There are obviously 27 LEDs on the first string and 18 on the second.
A little over 6v.

Samsung sell about four times as many TVs as Sony, there's bound to be more failures.

Re: Panasonic TX-48CX400B - No Video
