The analog meter is just connected across the output, so as long as it is still connected there it will still work. So there is no problem using both.

Re: An old dinosaur bench top power supply - help needed

Yes, that would work, I would remove the old analog meter and install the led readout in the hole.

Re: An old dinosaur bench top power supply - help needed

It could be that the ground circuit is open, check the resistance between the large capacitor negative and the regulator common(can/heatsink) then vary the control and see what resistance you...

Re: An old dinosaur bench top power supply - help needed

Do you measure any voltage on the output? If you get 0 volts the regulator must be open internally

Re: An old dinosaur bench top power supply - help needed

Just measure the voltages, the regulator should have around +35v input and the output should vary depending on the position of the control, (you can also check the ground pin voltage on the ic) The...

Re: An old dinosaur bench top power supply - help needed

The control is used to vary the ground of the 7805 so the output voltage will vary from +5v to something higher 12~20v
There looks like a burnt resistor above the switch? or is it just a black...

Re: Delta DPS-200PB-185A Schematic

I was looking at your Scan0167, and I see you have the T351 transformer coil across the Drain and source of Q351, are you sure this is correct or could Q351 be shorted D~S? If the fet is shorted,...

Re: Hitachi Refrigerator R-Z270AUN7KV not cold.

I believe the defrost timer in my fridge works like this, for every 6 hours of "compressor run time" the timer will then defrost for 25min.
The TMDFX05CD1 = for every 12H of run time it defrosts for...

Re: Hitachi Refrigerator R-Z270AUN7KV not cold.

I don't know which one it is but if you look at the schematic, there are two, a thermal fuse and a defrost thermo (thermostat) , You said that when you turned the defrost timer so it would defrost...

Re: LG 50ps60 Plasma Grainy/Fuzzy Horizontal

I would try re-seating the flex cables between the panel and the buffer boards, I would inspect them for damage incase the last person was not careful with them. That might clear up some of the...

Re: Can a failed input smoothing capacitor destroy the switching IC?

The switching ic needs to switch DC, when the main cap went open, the dc from the bridge would have vey high ripple, this would cause the ic to not operate properly and in the end shorted it's...

Re: Hitachi Refrigerator R-Z270AUN7KV not cold.

The schematic of this fridge is in post#11, You can see that the thermostat switches the a/c on and off to everything but the fridge lamp. The defrost timer only runs when the thermostat is closed,...

Re: 1300W PSU - Help with replacement mosfet

It is for limiting the current, You can install the rated fuse in its holder and then you can build a test jig like this to plug the unit into instead.

Re: Samsung LE37B530P7W 37" dead power supply

This snubber cap (CM806) is a common failure on these samsung boards, other models have the same problem, the cap shorts and the fuse opens. Sometimes the ic's output fet also shorts after the cap...

Re: 1300W PSU - Help with replacement mosfet

I suspect the 47Ω is in series between the gate and the driver, The 10kΩ is likely from the gate drive to ground and something else that is across it is causing the lower resistance. either bad...

Re: No power on Vizio D32F-E1 TV

Without a schematic, all you can do is check the numbers on the ic's and see if the voltages are correct, with these main boards and the bga ic's it is hard to work on them. Sometimes it's a problem...
