Re: Xbox 360 xenon error code 0023 !

I can't say for sure, as this will depend on how popular (or not) these consoles are in your region.

Here, I still see people trying to sell them for $20-30 with controllers and a few games on the...

Re: the gutless, bloated, and fried power supply hall of shame

Exactly!
This is why I won't say those piece of crap PSUs are even capable of more than 50 Watts total. The fact that I had a Deer PSU with similar built quality (namely, 1 output cap per rail) and...

Re: Raidmax RX-600 ringing noise and 0ms PG

You're welcome! ;)

Okay, okay, I don't want to give myself too much credit... :D but yeah, I kinda did mention it in my first reply to the thread that replacing the primary cap could be behind at...

Re: Harmon Kardon HK206 PC speakers

No.

Pins 10-18 are simply not used on the 18-pin version, so of course you shouldn't get any voltage on them. See the datasheet that R_J posted above, please.

From what I see, those voltages...

Re: Soyo SY-6VBA133 - no POST

They probably used too thin NiChrome wire on it, so it ran too hot for its own good.

That said, you can buy cheap NiChrome wire online and rewind it. Maybe even make it more powerful, if you like?...

Re: Asus P5P43TD won't boot or beep with memory fitted

Try inserting some pressure on the CPU socket before powering on the motherboad or try warping the motherboard under the CPU socket a bit (works best with the heatsink only sitting on top of the CPU...

Re: Xbox 360 xenon error code 0023 !

Oh man, I used to know these right off top of my head, but I can't remember almost any of them now.

If I remember correctly (or anything at all!), 0023 is RAM-related. Means either bad memory chip...

Re: Multimeter Repair - continuity buzzer (RAPID 328 DMM)

I think scratchy piezo sound is typically caused by either:
a) low/dying battery
b) dirty contacts in the rotary switch

... at least that was the case for all of my multimeters. :)

Re: the gutless, bloated, and fried power supply hall of shame

Didn't we all? :D

Oh see, when I was a kid, I was too "afraid" to mess with most of my working stuff. But now - not anymore. So my "mad scientist" phase has just begun. I'm sure you've...

Re: Post your system.......

I think they vary in quality, depending on price really. We have a case similar to that one (if not the same) in our company's storage room, and it appears... eh... OK... -ish. Has a thick layer of...

Yeah, I saw that. Just wasn't sure if you kept it around and still wanted to take a stab at fixing it.

Oh well...

Re: XBOX V1.6 with bad caps

Pretty sure it will.
Like you said, it's a Pentium 3 CPU. ;)

Personally, I'd mix polies with regular 'lytics: 'lytics for capacitance and 1 or 2 polies for low ESR.

Re: Soyo SY-6VBA133 - no POST

Could we see some pictures of your board and work? If it worked before (or at least POSTed) and not now, then it may help to trace back what you did. Not necessarily implying that your broken it, as...

Re: PcChips (ECS) Goal3+ no power

Check jumper settings to make sure Clear CMOS jumper is in proper position. Don't assume that someone hasn't moved it. A lot of motherboard I have will "do nothing" with that jumper set to "clear".

Re: ECS P4M800Pro-M Ver 2.0 No display

@ Hkskiller: whatever the outcome, O/P hasn't reported back in almost 2 years, so probably start over with your motherboard.

1st... a bit of history on your motherboard.
- Did the symptoms appear...

Would be interesting to see what kind of OC you'll get on stock voltage. I imagine most likely should be able to do +20%, provided you have a...

Re: Altec MX6021

It's a split-voltage power supply (i.e. Vcc and Vee, with ground/center-tap reference.)

Can't say, but judging by the rectifiers from the pictures others have posted, I'd say 6A just to be on...

Re: BFG Tech. GeForce FX5200 [ASLM52256] full recap info and cooler mod

x1650 is pretty nice too, but the x800/850 still beat it in terms of "raw" performance. Mostly has to do with the fact that the x1650 has only 4 ROP and 4 TMUs, whereas the x800/850 have 12 to 16...

I've been seeing a lot of washers here lately getting discarded - both new and old. The top-loading ones typically, from what I can tell by the symptoms in the description, just need a new...

Re: Post your worthless and/or pointless repairs

Already done... though I filed down the excess solder (carefully!) rather than wicking it. Works all the same, though.

Worth a try, though I doubt you would find the same issue.
The one shown...
