Re: Sharp TV Bad tab drivers?

either method could work... of course the "cut tape" method is a good choice as it doesn't cause any issue with applying or removing. the tab removal is a one time event that can't be undone. ...

Re: Sceptre X505BV-FMDR - Accessing LED Strips

yes.... but lots of sets that have no backlights (because of problems) have visible images.

Anyway, you can likely find your answer if you check the backlight voltages that are present when the...

Re: Sharp TV Bad tab drivers?

the set already had an issue, the power "outage" just added on top. Likely cause is that the panel issue is pushing the limits of the power board such that any difference in the powering caused the...

Re: Sceptre X505BV-FMDR - Accessing LED Strips

it would appear that this tv does not have a seperate tcon so the test that I suggested won't happen... :-( It normally is a simple test to help narrow down things while you think about other...

Re: Sceptre X505BV-FMDR - Accessing LED Strips

you probably need to post a picture of the back with all cards connected and showing... hopefully it will be obvious thereafter.

Re: Sceptre X505BV-FMDR - Accessing LED Strips

you should try disconnecting the cables going from the tcon to panel, one at a time to see if anything happens ... of course, do this without power on.

Re: SAmsung LE52A656 - panel fault or not?

you might ask the owner who was the "window washer"... maybe... :-) probably not recoverable as it appears to be a major issue with the panel.

Re: Sharp LC-80LE661U - Power's off after 4 seconds.

So you need to trace that error pin to see where it goes... I am assuming it comes from the tcon.... but you can confirm that. IF so, that would likely mean that the tcon is shutting the system...

Re: Panasonic TC-P42C2 - No HDMI

I think you misunderstood what I asked... I was referring to the source... dvd player or otherwise as opposed to the ports... try more than one device.

Further, does the set acknowledge there is a...

Re: Panasonic TC-P42C2 - No HDMI

Re: Sharp LC-80LE661U - Power's off after 4 seconds.

Re: Panasonic TC-P42C2 - No HDMI

leave it unplugged from the wall for a "while" along with disconnected from all hdmi cabling. Sometimes hdmi stuff can get "confused".... of course, if your power "event" caused some powering...

Re: Samsung UA48H6400 Backlight Problem

post a picture of the resulting display with either of the cables disconnected and also feed in a signal. That may indicate whether there is a different issue that the led backlights.

Re: Sharp LC-80LE661U - Power's off after 4 seconds.

:-( it appears that the structural design of the 80 is different from the 70 which has a plastic "plate" covering the lower edge boards. I am not sure that it is worthwhile doing further...

Re: Sharp LC-80LE661U - Power's off after 4 seconds.

hmmm the fact that you can't connect with any external inputs doesn't sound good and points towards the amin board which houses those (I think). further, you still need to try to disconnect the...

Re: Sharp LC-80LE661U - Power's off after 4 seconds.

multitudes of dvds (thx ones and others) have special features for tv setup / colors etc. In addition, there are computer files that provide various test patterns.

Since the system still shuts...

Re: Sharp LC-80LE661U - Power's off after 4 seconds.

as you can see from your pictures, the "issue" seems to be on the left side... when that side is disconnected.... while opposite "test" appears quite a bit better in terms of "uniform white". My...

Re: Sharp LC-80LE661U - Power's off after 4 seconds.

so... the pictures that you posted seem to show some "issue" with the display.... perhaps although it could be the "photography". The "white" side that indicates the side of the tcon that is...

Re: Sony KD60X690E No Video

well, if the "operation" works, the tv will likely be useful for a long time.... as in years, not days or weeks. Your friend will potentially not even notice a difference unless they have "golden...
