Re: Sharp LC-70LE650U

That tab driver is burnt up. Only thing you can try is to remove all the tabs on that side. There are plenty of threads here describing how to do it.

Re: Samsung 55inch SmartTV strange artefact

That artifact is way too geometrical to be a panel hit. I would say toss up between tcon and main board.

Re: LG 50LA6205 Bad Backlight and Bad Panel

What is theory on this type of repair ? I mean, how are these parts of the panel still displaying an image when the signal containing the image information is being blocked with tape ?

Re: Marantz NR1504 No sound

Not saying this is your issue but...

I have here an SR5008 for which the sound disappears at times, other times it is there with varying amounts of noise and yet other times perfect.

If I HIT...

Re: Samsung UN60FH6200F TV - No backlight - Please help

Failed leds are very common. Most manufacturers drive them too hard out of the box it's therefore recommended the end user turn them down right away to a still comfortable brightness level.

Re: FE3407F Alternative ?

I ordered a couple of FE3407F ic's from the bay and after installation the tv is back to normal.

Conclusion - these two ic's are NOT compatible.

Thanks for the heads up.

FE3407F Alternative ?

I have here an LG 50PG20 with the common buffer board failure. This board uses the FE3407F scan ic but I don't have any here. I removed a Renesas R2A20299FT from a different LG buffer board and...

Re: Explain how this circuit works...

I have continuity from Gate to C1747.

G-S resistance is 20M ohm not kohm.

Does Drain to Ground sound right at about 2k ohm ?

Re: Explain how this circuit works...

I never said I couldn't be bothered, only wanted to eliminate any topside tests before doing so.

Voltage drop across those resistors is 0.009v

Re: Explain how this circuit works...

Can't measure R1777 it's on the bottom side of the board. If I have to remove the board I would likely replace Q1032 and Q1057 at that time. Seems a waste to reassemble it to run another test as it...

Re: Explain how this circuit works...

Yes I get 5v on the drain pin the problem is the gate starts charging by itself and when it crosses the threshold the mosfet turns off and the 5v to the port disappears. All this while CEC_Power is...

Re: Explain how this circuit works...

Pin 4 is Source pin. For whatever reason the image is rotated from its schematic representation in the datasheet..

I can't measure R1777 in situ it's on the bottom of the board. Board looks new...

Re: Explain how this circuit works...

Is it normal that I can't get an accurate voltage reading on the gate ? The voltage seems to be draining through the meter to ground.

Re: Explain how this circuit works...

Thanks for that. I know this is child's play for you but could you dumb that down even further ? I'm trying to see the logic but can't get it.

On a practical note I've tried measuring Q1058 and...

Re: Explain how this circuit works...

I'm going to meter the circuit soon and will be able to see where it's failing. But I still don't understand how the circuit does what it does and why. Obviously the CEC_POWER line is used to turn...

Explain how this circuit works...

This is from a Marantz SR5012. The HDMI output dies (tv goes to No Signal) after about one minute. It works fine until then.

I'm losing my 5v at the HDMI output connector when this happens. The...

I have had two of these at one point. After tearing down one I found the sheet layers to be yellowish. The plastic pieces in the light box had similar discolouration and were brittle.

These sets...
