Re: Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

My R15 reads just under 138 ohms. It looks like the number is starting to blacken, I think the code number is 1370 which would be 137 ohm +/-1%

Re: Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

Oh noes, the flickering is back today! Arrgh... I don't know what to do next.

Maybe isolate the fade in bit and just tie the gate voltage of that transistor to Vcc? I might have to buy another one...

Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

I have a Whirlpool side by side fridge that is not even 2.5 years old. Recently the LED lights inside the fridge and freezer started acting up. Instead of fading on when the door was opened, the...

Re: Used TV Resales, very slow...

I agree that the marketing channel is the biggest problem with buying/selling of used TVs and parts. Craigslist is dead to me and probably many others as well. Too many scammers and wierdos on there....

Re: Kaleidescape player

Hey thanks for the tip! I have been out of the game for a while and have forgotten much. I tested all of the other caps with my CapAnalyser 88a and they seem OK. I used the twist off method to remove...

Kaleidescape player

I just got in a Kaleidescape KPlayer-300. It works for the most part, other than randomly rebooting several times a day. I took it apart and it seems to have several bad capacitors which could...

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven

I looked at a picture of the board by googling the PN and finding it on a repair parts site. Its probably C6 or C7. Those two are on the secondary (low voltage) side of the power supply. The board...

Re: Cheap Source for Racks?

I wouldn't mess with any no-name cable from eBay if you plan to do a permanent installation. How can you be sure it is not CCA or actually manufactured to spec? Better to spend a couple extra $ for a...

Re: Antennas location comparison for receiving DTV ? FM ?

I suppose it mainly depends on your location. If you are in a suburban area and have no trouble getting the main networks and are mainly trying to improve reception on weaker or outlying channels,...

Re: Antennas location comparison for receiving DTV ? FM ?

I have recently mastered the DIY antenna dance for my MATV home setup. It is no longer a master antenna, but an antenna farm in my attic! Previously I had a single Monoprice HDA-5700 amplified...

DigiKey++

I got a postcard at my parents address that I haven't lived at for 13 years and ordered from DigiKey a few times there. I also got one at my current POB that I started using in 2014. So...

Re: An old fave analog meter

My dad gave me his 22-204A to fix (and give back!). It was zapped by testing with the wrong range set. The needle was dead in all ranges. I took it apart and found R24 (9.5 ohm) was visibly burnt. I...

Re: Genie garage door radio modified for relay output

Genie garage door radio modified for relay output

When replacing the 20 year old garage door openers at my folks house recently, I decided to salvage the guts of the openers for potential re-use. The most interesting part of these that would be...

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven

It is difficult to say just looking at that picture. But your symptoms suggest that it is a bad capacitor problem causing the display to fade. If you could post a better picture of your actual board,...

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven

Yes it could be bad. C3 (68uf) on these boards is what drives the VFD and causes the fade out. It is usually the only one that is bad. Try replacing it again. If you have a multimeter with a...

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven

It seems like you are back where you started. In your 4th picture, it looks like you circled a bad solder joint. You might want to go over the whole board again looking for more of them.

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven

I looked at your post again you say the the P/N is 71001799R.... That is the same as mine but without the 'R'. I am going to take a WAG and say that the 'R' means 'Refurbished'. So do what you will,...

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven

No, 68uf is what was there originally in C3. The board in your pictures was refurbished by someone other than the factory that made it. The cheapo cap and resistor job screams this fact. If you look...

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven

This has been seen on other refurbished boards: (http://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpost.php?p=367940&postcount=126)

The resistor is a crutch. Remove both the resistor and capacitor replace with a...
