Re: Lg 60lf6100 is the screen gone?

yes that potentially is a "save technique"... BUT it is likely not a tcon issue for this particular set. Again, check the tabs in the bottom corner along with the design of the side connections......

Re: Lg 60lf6100 is the screen gone?

the first picture of the two screen shots....tells the story. As suggested, the bottom right corner of the panel "took a shot" which didn't crack the screen but caused a "connection issue" on the...

Re: Lg 60lf6100 is the screen gone?

:-( you are likely not going to be successful.

one side works but the other side gets nothing, usually indicates a bad side / panel. My guess, the side that doesn't cause a picture is the...

Re: Samsung UN60EH6050FXZA no picture or sound Only a blue screen

based on shopjimmy and the OP post of the IC1901, it appears that there is a tcon board hiding somewhere that is replaceable. So then it is possible that the replacement tcon was bad BUT the OP...

Re: Samsung UN60EH6050FXZA no picture or sound Only a blue screen

something fishy here... seems some are "talking" about two different things. One says the tcon/ tab is integrated into the panel (which I believe is correct based on the posted picture) BUT the...

Re: Sharp LC-70UQ17U won't power on, 3 long-1 short blink

unplug the cable going to the tcon and see if the blacklights come on either normally or thru force sequence.

Re: Sony KDL-37XBR6 Black Screen :(

OK.... So, if this is all true, then whatever that fuse is protecting is getting nothing in terms of voltage... and if what was posted earlier, it should be 12v, AND 12v is at the connector leaving...

Re: Sony KDL-37XBR6 Black Screen :(

Since you have 12v produced at the power board and nothing at the tcon (fuse test shows 0... if correct), then you need to trace the wiring from the power board over to the main board as it is...

Re: Sharp Aquos 80" not working

OK... that makes sense then as it is probably providing "well defined" voltage towards the transformer which then has secondaries which are dropping (or otherwise) as needed.

Re: Sharp Aquos 80" not working

I don't know either... :-) just going by my "basics".... for diodes. Basically, a zener acts like a diode in the biased direction and "holds a voltage" in the other as opposed to being totally...

Re: Sharp Aquos 80" not working

hmmm... not sure about that. I thought that a zener should test with the "diode check" in one direction... while in the other depending on the voltage may not.

Re: Sharp Aquos 80" not working

i think you might as well start checking why there is no vref.

Re: Samsung UA55ES6200M bad panel

As you have figured, you have a panel issue. The "tape" technique that you used likely blocked the power feed to the side that is in trouble, hence that side isn't being driven and remains...

Re: Sharp LC60LE660U screen flashes on power on then nothing

It doesn't need to protect an "open circuit" as there is nothing there to protect. the system monitors current not voltage.

Re: Sharp LC60LE660U screen flashes on power on then nothing

That's seems rather light IF you are saying there is 54 leds on each string. The "clue" earlier about having a picture one way and then nothing the other would appear to indicate some sort of loose...

Re: Sharp LC60LE660U screen flashes on power on then nothing

people have lives beyond the internet. :-)
what is the output voltages when the strings are not connected?

Re: Sony KDL-37XBR6 Black Screen :(

you need to check the voltages associated with the power board ... they should be written near the connectors in question. Note that, some voltages only appear briefly during startup when the set...

Re: Sharp lc-55n620cu no sound

maybe... maybe trace via resistance / continuity check from the output of the "removed fet" to see exactly where that output heads on the board... assuming it goes to one of the "v lines" in the...

Re: Sharp LC60LE660U screen flashes on power on then nothing

:-( 1 step forward... three steps back :-(
It doesn't sound good. check the connectors on the power board for the inverter to led strings along with voltages.

Re: Sharp lc-55n620cu no sound

I think that you are probably testing OK... but maybe I don't understand. You are looking at the "burned up fet circuitry"... right? But from your first post, you indicated that the voltage...

Re: Sharp lc-55n620cu no sound

Since you can run the set with the fet removed, you help your tracing by careful metering where the 18v/22v is coming from on the power board.... that should identify the ic quickly. Once you got...

Re: Sharp lc-55n620cu no sound

look on the power and see where / if any voltages in the "neighborhood" are labelled / found there. Perhaps they overloaded the audio circuit causes the supply regular to "burp"... or if you get...

Re: Sharp LC60LE660U screen flashes on power on then nothing

I know you got this tv from someone but the initial state was not "solid" in that one doesn't know how the cables were connected in terms of alignment. This might have caused some confusion for the...
