Re: Hard drive wont spin up unless connected by usb

I bet the drive's firmware listens for the "Drive enable" pin. https://www.hgst.com/sites/default/files/resources/HGST-Power-Disable-Pin-TB.pdf

Try grounding pin 3 on that power connector.

Re: General Electric Model No.EA7-4630D ?

Replace all the 'lytics, but those are...

Re: 10 hours lost because stupid laptop wouldn't boot! GRRR!

Kali must handle out of disk oddly then. Ive driven my Suse install out of disk space multiple times. All that happens is syslog refuses to start, and X11 refusing to start, dropping me to a TTY.

Re: Search for specific strings and display only those strings in Linux

Strings wants a filename?

Let me give you an example here.

cat BIOS.BIN |strings | grep -i .....-.....-.....-.....-.....
Will pull a Windows key from a BIOS image.

EG:
cat Acer_bios.BIN...

Re: more win10 fuckings

Not only, but hardware is getting TOO fast for legacy software. I can't for the life of me get my Windows 3.11 VM to boot on my new laptop. The fucking Xeon CPU is too damn fast.

Re: Repair Vintage DC Power Supply, Sorensen DCR-B series 2700-Watt 600-4.5B

Im actually having a hard time visualizing how in the world this thing works.... Can you post pictures?

Re: Repair Vintage DC Power Supply, Sorensen DCR-B series 2700-Watt 600-4.5B

Have you tested the Diodes? if a pair is open then voltage will be low. Along those lines, you will be able to see said noise with a 'scope.
