i looked at that one before, on banggood.

not bad but no colour display.
i want colour display because it has better contrast and a noticably higher resolution.

but they are shared with the other things anyway - pincount is not the issue - size of the flash is.
all the cheap testers have 32k, we want more than that.

hard to say right now.
i'm personally leaning towards the TC1 because it can take a bigger mcu,
now just to get it up to current standards it will need a rotary encoder and a new voltage reference...

some testers have dc-dc convertors to test zeners upto 30 or even 50v
i'm looking at one that may make a good starting platform, but it would still need a rotary encoder and a better cpu.

a diac would probably show as a pair of zeners.
i think i may have one on an old switching psu for halogen lamps - maybe i will be able to test that theory. :D

in theory it may be detected as 2 diodes.

only the voltage reference really, like last time - i think you have spares of the lm4040

beware of the case, if it's the acrylic ones they crack.

some quick builds:
GM328 and AY-AT for 16MHz
both using compact font with more menu lines.

and a T4(strip-grid) 16MHz testbuild for TEDDIBEAR.

well i'm confused.

there is only one button input, and i assume it works because you can power the unit on.
maybe that assumption is a mistake - let me check the schems.
