Re: Linear PSUs with high output V

I'm not that familiar with PSUs, so probably I did not give the correct description.
Those PSUs consist only from transformer, rectifier and a filter cap.
The load that I used was a router rated...

What could be the reason linear PSU to output higher than its rated voltage?
I have two 12V psus which output 18vDC ( 16vDC with load ) and 22vDC ( 18vDC with load ).

Thanks for the reply, I'm not planning to reball the IC or anything that complicated. I was thinking about populating the microSD card slot.
It turned out that I have another camera with similar IC...

Do the headphones work for Z1?

Also, have you tried to reset the unit?

Re: IP camera mod/upgrade

Thanks for the reply.

The firmware seems pretty much generic. From what I've read, the firmwares are issued by the processor maker, then they get tweaked by the camera makers ( custom bitmaps,...

Re: Onkyo TX-NR717 No sound.

In this case you should start with the board connections.
See the SM for the signal flow paths.
Once you are sure all boards are connected properly, you can start checking the power supplies on the...

Re: Onkyo TX-NR717 No sound.

No, do not do anything to the DTS.
Most likely it is something else.
For a start check all power rails going to the hdmi board.
Do you have video output? Is the OSD working? Is the internet...

Re: What's the purpose of these thermo pads?

Look like silicone thermal pads ( used for heat transfer ). I've seen them used on the top of the IC and on the bottom - on other other side of the PCB, under the IC. I've seen them also used as...

Ok, so 14V@0.6A through the daylights module connected straight to the transformer ( still on the board ). See the attached image for the input waveform.

So, first of all - lot's of hi-pitch noise...

Shorting pins 3 and 4 on the optocoupler also did not change anything.

Re: SMPS low Vout

Thanks for reminding me - just scrapped a cap from an old pci lan card. After I installed it, the V on c661 went down to 0.2v ( was 0.36 ) and on c663 - 0.3V ( was 0.47 ).

Just checked the diodes...
