Re: Chieftec APS-650C owners beware

the cap was probably destroyed by the APFC circuit - that's starting to become a pattern in all modern psu's!
it's only there to please the power company to make up for deficiencies in their...

Re: Help! Need to replace capacitor on expensive motherboard.

560uf 6.3v polymer
you need to check the diameter yourself - probably 8mm
and check the pitch between the pins - probably 2.5mm

Re: Compaq PDP-121P - Baked MOV

Re: Do capacitors have maximum allowed amps rating?

there is no magic temperature, the higher it is - the lower the life.
it's not a good idea to have fans switching up and down - find a good fixed speed.

Re: 12 volt switching power supply modification to 14.5 volts before blocking diode a

diode-gone-wild had a 600w psu of similar design that had salvaged and re-sleeved high voltage caps in it.
they where even dented and...

Re: Do capacitors have maximum allowed amps rating?

if the ripple exeeds the cap rating you just wont get smooth power - you wont blow it up.
chinese psu's are very varied.

Re: Meters and Microamps

glass fuses are glued with that brown stuff they use to hold the cap on lamp bulbs.
ceramic fuses are press-fit or they have kind-of crimped the inner edge probably by spining it between some...

Re: Inexplicable voltage readings in LED circuits

i would mod the ksger buy making sure the mains earth is connected to the iron via a 1meg or 2.2meg resistor.

that way your earthed but wont get a boom if you touch a live circuit or charged...

Re: EVGA NEX650G power supply detecting a fault on startup.

you can get most i.c.'s from china for peanuts.
i would remove the carcase of the resistor and then meter each pad to ground and other places to look for a possible short.

Re: Powered Speaker Hum When Plugged In
