Re: The ghetto mod thread

^ Nope. I think out of that 6w rating, 2w is sunk in the radio, and 4w is sunk in the resistor. A large 1k ohm resistor.

Re: Windows 10 UPDATE NIGHTMARE

Yeah. I would abandon 10. Even if you disable update you still have the start screen and onedrive and all that shit in the background sapping data.

Re: Last ditch effort to Apple GPU problem for old Macbook Pro...

^ Louis knows his shit. These chips are crap. And really, it's not the silicon, its that green part on the bottom.

Some GPUs do have faulty balls. Nvidia is common. I had one die from bad solder....

Re: OpenWRT, Spectrum DOCSIS 3 Cable Modem and IPv6 addresses.

Do you have Ipv6 set as passthrough? (May be named something else. I only have an ASUSWRT router in front of me ATM.)

Re: OpenWRT, Spectrum DOCSIS 3 Cable Modem and IPv6 addresses.

You could do like me and disable IPv6 and bury your head in the sand. I really don't want to need to remember IPv6 addresses....

Re: Linux Distros : Mint, Zorin and Ubuntu - my 2 cents

^ Thats why i never used KDE. Its a bigger pig than gnome 3.

I get those mixed up often. Cinnamon is based off of 3* and MATE off of 2 as you say.

*According to Wikipedia.

Re: LM Hashes and NTLM Hashes with Windows Server 2003

^ Nah, I learned all that to get me a nice Poweredge server for free! (They needed to migrate but the old IT guy left with the passwords, so i broke in for them.)

Besides i'll never use that...

Re: Linux Distros : Mint, Zorin and Ubuntu - my 2 cents

^ Gnome 3 really is shit.. I can't argue with that. Bloated, SJW rampant, and ugly as all get out, and buggy. Gnome 2 (became Cinnamon) was good. But 3 is just shit.

Re: Yamaha RX-V673 power problems

^ Yes. Sounds like it may well be the problem here.

It would be worth getting a resistance reading across the caps R_J mentioned as well.

Re: Yamaha RX-V673 power problems

^ How much voltage it has while plugged in. Should be around 300v.

C3807 is there to start the small PSU, OP. The other two R_J mentioned are for filtering the power coming out of it... If...

Re: Yamaha RX-V673 power problems

Yes, it looks like they got rid of the dropper for a switch mode PSU.... Finaly.

On the connector CB376 pins 6 and 7 should have 5.5v Does it have such? And is there a voltage between pins 1 and 2?

Re: Yamaha RX-V673 power problems

Check C405. They are a common fault and provides standby voltages in the 240v PSUs. Standby voltages drive that standby relay.
