Re: the gutless, bloated, and fried power supply hall of shame

Well the label on the powewr (sic) supply is what informed people base their purchasing decisions on.
And that assures of a hefty 29A on 12v, and then just 10A on 5v and 14A on 3.3v.
Sounds like a...

Re: New SSD hard drive in laptop computer what a difference in boot time

No, a SSD has a seek time of sub 0.1ms, that is their advantage, i.e. they are an order of magnitude faster than mechanical HDD's at random seeks.

No, you should not do a defrag on an SSD, it is...

Re: Dell Z930P-00 Power Supply recapping

Yes it should be fine, originals are 0.012Ω ESR and new caps 0.08Ω
Higher ripple handling capability is always a good thing, only ESR must remain as close as possible to the originals...
BUT: if...

Re: Dell Z930P-00 Power Supply recapping

Welcome to Badcaps!
Unless the Rubycon MBZ caps look different in one of the PSU's than in your pictures or you know for a fact they are bad you can probably leave them.
If so then only the United...

Re: Dell 9200 KZGs and other caps

They look genuine but they are probably old stock.
It would be good to reform them (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50530), I have had known good capacitors fail after a few months of...

Re: Corsair GS800 fan spinning only on boot

The CPU has a TDP of around 65w
Intel cheats a bit in their TDP specs so it can draw more than that.
In general the system will draw around 100w DC during Prime95
The GPU has a TDP of 120w, it can...

Sorry for the delay, I have changed the PHP settings to allow larger files to upload.
I tested with your linked picture and it works fine now.
But this one was 4MB, does the 15MB version upload...

Re: Corsair GS800 fan spinning only on boot

This is a fanless PSU at low loads.
What is the power consumption on the PSU when you say it is under heavy load by Prime95?
Remember it is an 800w PSU and most desktop machines will be hard...

Re: Corsair vs650 random power off / reboot

Do you know which power supply turns off?
Inside an ATX PSU are two supplies: the 5VSB and the main supply (3.3v 5v, 12v -12v)

Could you put this original picture somewhere so I can make some tests with it?
(Obviously you would need to use some other website if you get the error above here...)

Re: Asus Z370-F Strix Gaming - Bent pins - Not powering up

I would say testing without RAM is useful too: the board should produce a beep code to say there is no RAM installed.
While having bad/wrong type of RAM can make the board unable to produce that...

Re: Fake Rubycons?

They are probably genuine.
Rubycon MBZ does not like heat, well better said none of the high aqueous ultra low ESR models do.

Re: Ratdude's Main Rig V6

No, it is not for Vistas sake: it is so that if you have a third party driver it will be newer than the Windows in-box driver.
And so Windows should not try to overwrite it with the in-box driver....

Except a bad diode in the...
