Re: Unlock password protected SSDs
if you don't need them data, does it let you totally do a sector wipe?

so no, it doesnt let me do a sector wipe sadly, only thing the ssds to, is it detects as a 128 gb ssd drive, from samsung with its type nr, when u try to boot of the disk it asks for password, or screen goes black. |
Re: Unlock password protected SSDs
there is a command that makes drives factory-reset,
you need to send it direct - no usb adapters, and you probably have to use linux. |

i dont get why they dont work, the samsung magician software does detect the ssds, the written tbs and temperature is readble, but i cant format the drives or something in that way, so yeah, no psid revert support, no format possible, weird :) never liked samsung, but ok, tryed serveral format applications, no result, try install windows on it, not working. |

You have not told us what drive you are trying this on. In any case you can't format or do anything with the data on the drive before you do a psid revert. A Linux machine with hdparm and sedutil are probably the best ways to go at it. |
Re: Unlock password protected SSDs
Probably an absurdly extreme measure, but have you tried running a FW update ISO from the manufacturer? As far as I can guess, those should reset the password?
