i wonder if the above is possible? the reason im doing this is because my mobo's onboard sound rear panel has phailed jack detection, so it cant detect anything being plugged in and thus wont turn on the sound. i got around this by using the front panel header on the mobo but i need the mic input for my headset, so i was wondering if i could use the cd-in connector as a secondary line in input?

i tried looking for a 4 pin cd in to 3.5mm stereo jack adapter but it doesnt seem to exist, so i need to ask if those two analogue connectors are compatible. dont want to fry more stuff. then...

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...

Hello friends, I am having trouble with a hp-ec1001np that detects the headphones or speakers when connected to the jack, but no sound comes out. The normal laptop speakers work fine. Anyone has an idea what it might be? Did a full reinstall of windows, still nothing.
