toshiba tecra m2 bios

hey all I need to find out if any here happens to be a Toshiba ASP or know one I had a client bring in a Toshiba tecra m2 with a power on password set that they need removed however there are no Toshiba ASPs local to me. So I am hopping someone on here can help me out.

does it have a "normal" Award/Award-Phoenix/AMI BIOS? or the proprietary Toshiba one?

if it's the Toshiba-BIOS, there are 2 ways of getting rid of it..

- modified floppy disk (hex edit the bootsector)
- special parallelport plug

ok I will give the parallel port a try but it has no floppy and i have no idea about the bios as it turns on and asks for a password before anything else is displayed

I have a Tecra M2 and I can tell you that it uses the Toshiba BIOS, not the Award BIOS, so follow what Scenic has specified and it should work. You'll have to utilize that parallel port on its left though since it doesn't have an FDD.

well I just tried the parallel port plug and had no luck it still comes up asking for password then when I give it one it says not certified
