Some boards have a way to do BIOS recovery, try a Google search for this for example: Intel desktop DH67CF BIOS recovery

Have read around but it seems to be quite cumbersome and not safe now I'm talking about direct programming to chips therefore this motherboard does not respond to usb, hdmi or or speakers not even for the start button now it starts with a bridge

              harddrive?
              SATA right?
i'v seen that before but never understood how a fucked drive could stop the board booting.
but i didnt think you where testing with a drive, just cpu, ram and graphics.

I had everything in place all the time but I still do not understand how it can be so with the other motherboards it usually starts right away.not this time

That's why you have to strip it down to bare minimum parts before looking at BIOS etc.

Other bad devices always have the chance to cause problems.

You wrote about corrupt Bios that may need to be reprogrammed how to do it ?
That's a known symptom of a dead CPU or a socket problem.

If the BIOS got corrupted, then it's very likely that the BIOS chip is faulty.

Do you have a known good board you could put the other components in to test? Hard to know if the problem is the board or something else. I have gotten similar results (lights and fan but nothing else) with bad RAM chips and bad capacitors near the RAM bank.

I think O/P got the problem solved - issue was corrupt HDD... or at least according to post #25.

Dell Latitude 7420 BIOS Unlock Gone Wrong
                          by Jeff'sTech
                          Hello everyone.

I have come here with a rather specific question. I was given a Dell Latitude 7420 laptop with a busted screen, and wanted to see if I could refurbish it into my daily driver. I wanted to experiment and see if a 2-in-1 display would work as the chassis of the laptop and 2-in-1 7420 looked identical. I threw in the display and my hypothesis was correct, however, I was greeted with a locked BIOS and since I didn't know the password, I figured I'd try to unlock it somehow. I bought one of those POGO pin probe things for my CH341A programmer so I could read and make...

Winbond 25Q16JWNIG – Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 G814JZ bricked after wrong flash – Need help
                          by Vincent Kahle
                          Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me.
I have an Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 (G814JZ) laptop with a Winbond 25Q16JWNIG chip on the motherboard.

Unfortunately, I flashed the wrong file (BIOS/EC/other region – I'm honestly not sure anymore), and now the laptop is completely dead: no display, no fan spin, no reaction at all.

I have a CH341A programmer and I'm able to read and write to the chip. However, I'm not sure which software is best (AsProgrammer, NeoProgrammer, etc.) or if there's anything specific I should watch out for.
                          A valid BIOS/EC backup...

Asus Chromebox CN62 - wrong chip put on BIOS reader
                          by BMCappelletti
                          Long story short:
                          - dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
                          - gave the computer to his son a couple years later
                          - son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
                          - too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)

He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8...

                          Hello.
I received a 840 G1 with completely wrong system info in BIOS.
Serial Number and everything is wrong, even the Model is wrong (written as 850 G1)
How can i reset these info?

                          Thank you!

                          by alegatorul
                          hi,
i've being using this Cello tv, uk brand, C40rts, HK.T.RT2841P638 main board, for a year or more.
Last week i've found an update, 3rd party, that i though it was close to my board. Inserted on a usb stick the install.img, started the Firmware update, ended, rebooted and nothing. The led (red-green) keeps flashing, backlight is on but to response on remote.
I've retried with original fw, no success. Hooked the uart Cp2102, putty, tried to swuu command (to update from usb), it goes for a while the get "cpu reset" on laptop screen that brakes the process and halt....
