I think I nuked InstallShield. Reinstallable?
I installed Visual Studio 6 and stupidly didn't ignore the option to install InstallShield so I let it install it or do something with it and now most if not all of my older installers that require InstallShield (which is essentially everything) are working incredibly slowly and/or are crashing. I'm sure I mangled up InstallShield somehow but how can I fix this? Is it even possible to replace/upgrade the version of InstallShield that is embedded into windows?

In a Beelink GTR mini PC, mine has an Intel AX200NGW WLAN module.
Tried (only with keyboard/mouse connected):- BIOS + database update
- Using latest Windows 11 image built with official image creation tool
- Previous setup version for Windows 11 installer
- Replacing SSD without a slow block (the previous SSD had a slow block with access time > 500 mS)
- TPM reset (worked to the point where DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG error message is displayed briefly after the point of stalling)
- Disabling power to WLAN and LAN modules in BIOS (Advanced > AMD PBS > PCI Express Configuration)

Hi All.
Sorry ahead of time for the text wall. This is a strange problem and I have tried to explain it as best I can. I realise this is a hardware forum (mostly), but I am still not sure if this is even a hardware fault! I am hoping that someone more knowledgeable than me in the area of understanding installation logs, or someone that has had a similar issue in the past may have some ideas of what might be causing this.

I have an ASUS FA507R in for repair where I’m unable to install any operating system. The laptop works fine when booted from an external Windows or Linux drive, but any attempt to install on an NVMe SSD fails.
I’ve already tested with three different SSDs (Gen 3 and older), and the issue persists. The laptop originally came in with a faulty SSD showing 0% health....08-22-2025, 07:55 AM -
For years I tried figuring out how to R|W BINs from my CH341x programmer.
From FTDI's pkg, Apps specifically claiming they work, I failed for ~8 years.
I'd expect many here figured it out (easily), but in case not ...
