    msi 6120 poly

intercepted this from the trash.neighbor was going to pitch it.
he had tried to recap with radioshack caps.looked like shit.
oddly the vrm on one cpu has 8 output caps and the other only 7.
yes i double checked to be sure.
2x 1ghz/100/256 slot 1 chips.i remember when these were scarce as hens teeth and very expensive!

did a bh6 for a friend.it was an emergency job for a homebrew cnc computer.
it was always a bit shakey.polys on vcore and vdimm.also on +3.3.
so old school stuff responds well.
          eliminated the quirks.
since tayeh are junk when new i wonder how many were scrapped as being buggy when nearly new.

I have a KA7 I may give it a whirl on. I think vcore on those is 2.8v, so I'll have to use the 560uF 4v polies on it.

iirc even slot a chips cant stand more than about 2.2
i would use the 820's.install cpu and goldfinger, and play.
of course the 560@4 will be great on vdimm and anywhere +3.3

Poly VVX-250 VOIP POE problem not booting fix
                by CapLeaker
I've got a bunch of Poly VVX-250 VOIP phones that work fine as kind as long as they are plugged into the wall wart. Recently I got around to install a couple of TP-Link 5 port POE switches that are added to the existing plain Jane 24 port unmanaged switch. Great!!! Finally I am able to ditch the wall warts from these phones making more space on the desk, plus I am gaining some badly needed power outlets. So I thought.

Plugged in the first VVX-250 into the POE switch, booted up no problem. Plugged in the other Poly phones and they start to boot anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds,...

                3300uf 6.3V Poly recpaing
                by xnRS
I got an old AM2 board with 3300uf 6.3v badcaps(all). So I want to change them with poly ones. Can you give me advice which capacity should I use ? I saw on one russian forum(rom.by) that capacity of poly should be around third of current leaky caps, but I'm not sure.

Japanese 3DO with leaking caps - (nearly) full poly replacement
                by Blag
Hi all, I've got a 1994 Japanese Panasonic 3DO with 2 leaking caps. Since all the caps are now 25 years old I decided to swap them all before more of them start to leak.
To reduce the danger of another leakage in the future I decided to swap every possible cap with a poly cap.
Has anyone here done that already and give me some hints?

I found a "fitting" (voltage, uF and measurements) poly cap for all but 3 caps. The largest cap is a 6800 uF 25v cap, since there aren't any 6800er polys I'll get a high quality electrolyte one with a higher temp rating. The...

Are these older style Sanyo Poly's?
                by jayjr1105
Pulled these from an AGP graphics card so maybe 2001 or so. They test fine with 0.00 ESR. Just curious. I assume Poly because no vent marks for expansion.
