    Re: advice on heatsinks

That fan on the ebay one is a Delta screamer
It uses that plug because if you put it on a mainboard it would fry the mosfet since it pulls too much current
And yea, it's loud as hell!

Sealing it does not improve performance so much when the fan is blowing, as it is here
For the Alpha though where they recommend sucking then it makes a big difference

If you buy it you can of course try it yourself and go with what works best

Think of the noise like a vacuum cleaner whining in your PC. Eeeee.

On top of the MCX370 there's a 6850RPM Papst 612NHH fan. This fan may spin fast, but it's relatively low powered - Papst rate it at 2.9 watts, and I measured it drawing a bit more than 3W. It's remarkably quiet for its speed - a bit louder than the average 4000RPM-ish fan, but not a hair-dryer whine.

That was found on a review online.

i like papst fans. they actually move air. i have a bunch of tiny ones that move a lot of air for their size. i might get those, since 2 of them is cheaper than 1 of the alphas in the long run

Seeking Advice: Repairing Dell U3425WE Monitor with Faulty USB-C/Thunderbolt Ports
            by Borse2008
            Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice or opinions on what to do with a monitor issue I’ve run into. Apologies in advance is this crossovers a few forum categories.

I have a Dell U3425WE, which I've recently replaced with another model. That said, the original unit is still fully functional in terms of the display — it works perfectly over HDMI and DisplayPort. However, the USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 ports have stopped functioning correctly. The Issue:
            • The 90W Thunderbolt 4 port (circled in the photo) no longer charges or powers any device, including laptops or MacBooks.
            • There’s

Asus CUV4X rev 1.03 Schematic Wanted
            by AusDuron1000
            Hi All,
I'm chasing a circuit schematic for an Asus CUV4x Motherboard.

I purchased the board in 'unknown' condition and it doesn't exhibit any signs of life when testing with known good parts.

The board does not power on - No LED illuminated when ATX power connected. When bridging the PS_ON to Ground at the ATX connector the board will power up however seems to fail early chipset initialization at post code C0

Any help greatly appreciated as I'd love to get this cool 'retro' board back to life to live another 25 years!

            Thanks

            Mosfet Advice
            by Green Probe
Hi, Im looking to replace some EMP21N03 mosfets on an Alienware motherboard, but I'm having trouble finding a legit supplier. The ones that are available from China have pictures with the engraved logo looking very scratchy and sketchy. Nobody in the US sells them. I'm trying to find a compatible mosfet, but I'm not well versed enough to be confident im making the right choice. Does anyone have a suggestion or advice that could help me find the right mosfet? Thanks!

Gigabyte Eagle 3060 Ti - Boardview / Advice request please
            by user234
            Hi all,

Recently installed a new motherboard but during the process I seemed to have damaged my Gigabyte Eagle 3060 Ti card.

My motherboard ROG STRIX B550-A is detecting an issue with the VGA (light ON)

I have attached 2 photo's of my GPU board, one above and the other is what I believe to be the 5V - as you can see, this has visual damage so looks suspicious to me.

If I replace this part what are the odds this will resolve the issue? - any additional information on where to source the parts would be much apricated too!

Advice on rewiring this stepup transformer?
            by artvandalai
I bought this Chinese made step up transformer to run some 220v appliances. Some of the wires were brittle and broke off. I attempted to improve some of the wiring with spade terminals and heatshrink tubing as the wires were just soldered straight to the connectors. Any advice on how to rewire the broken wires on this step up transformer? I'm unsure how to go about rewiring this to a better safe working condition.
