Need to design a scsi cage enclosure

Today I was given an older Compaq Proliant hard drive cage (filled with six 15K 18.2GB SCA drives ) and I need something to put it into.

^^Above picture shows the cage, minus the drives.
First thing I thought of was a spare full height scsi enclosure but this is too big. The next thing I tried was an old ammunitions box (heck, why not make some sort of rugged disk array that could be hauled around) but the cage is too deep for the box (though it's just wide enough to fit snugly inside and leave room for the power and data bulkheads).
Okay, so I really want to make something cool here that I could carry around (with the limitation of I need an appropriate AHA-2940 or other SCSI-3 controller) but I don't know what to do. Do any of you have any wacky ideas?
FYI, the cage measures 9" x 7.5" x 6" and on the back has a single 68 pin SCSI connector and two Molex power sockets.
Also, if we are to make something portable, did anyone ever bother to make PCMCIA SCSI-3 cards and how insane are they worth?

Yes they make scsi PCMCIA cards, my boss has one

I can get you a controller I'm pretty sure I have one, or you can get one here

keep in mind, its not a raid card

I can find 2940s by the dozen and I can always use software RAID. Also, all those PCMCIA cards I am finding are the older SCSI-1 which is way too slow to be practical. Are you sure there were no faster SCSI-2 (ultra?) and SCSI-3 cards made?

so far i've never seen pcmcia cards faster than SCSI-2 (no U, no W).
but there are docking stations for *some* laptops that can host a PCI card (like this: http://cgi.ebay.de/Compaq-Docking-St...3286.m63.l1177 )
