      Link fixed.
      Is a common thing apparently.

Disable fast boot. Windows 10 hibernates the disk leaving it in a state 7 does not understand so runs CHKDSK.

          ^^
It's not so much that it leaves it in a state Win7 does not understand.
Fast Boot is basically hibernation, i.e. stuff not yet committed to disk is saved to a ramdrive backup.

Now consider if a few writes are pending, and you use shutdown and then boot Win7.
Of course those pending writes will be in the ramdrive, so Win7 does not know about them, it has no way to.
And thus it fixes the missing writes in the filesystem...

Now what REALLY pisses me off is that I reported this, as did many others to MS during the Technical Preview.
But they did nothing to fix it.
Worse each time you do a big update (I.e. Anniversary for example)
Then it puts this setting back to enabled!
It's so moronic I don't even know where to begin!

What's even more fun is that the cenario of dual boot is not necessary.
It could be a file you write to a disk, shutdown and move the disk to another PC.
When you get there the file will either not exist or be corrupt, because some of it still remains in the ramdrive!!!

            Ah cheers makes sense.
only reason I still use win 7 is less memory usage. better for some of the memory intensive games I play.
also at times win 10 is busy collecting my data to send off to ms lol.

Yep, Fast Boot is one of the stupidest things about 10. And I'm getting so sick of disabling it, along with 10,000 other retarded things.

And it boots up fine without it!

Damage quick drive. Windows 10 sleeps the disk moving it in a position 7 does not assume so works CHKDSK.
