    Windows Vista Backups

Anyone know how reliable the Backup utility in Vista Ultimate is? I'm hoping to backup all my stuff to my NAS, but since I can't see the individual files once they are transferred, I'm not sure if I trust it yet...

This is only my second day with Vista, but it's really not as bad as I expected. Even old stuff such as Quake III, Quicken 2002, and Winamp 2.95 are working fine. It is also reasonably responsive, but then I have 6GB of ram

It is incompatible with NTbackup, for sure.

I wrote a GUI wrapper for NTBackup that works very nicely... it fails entirely on Vista. They changed everything about the Vista backup.

Vista cannot read .BKF files, and for sure NTBackup cannot read whatever Vista produces. A real pity.

      backup?
i use total commander to sync the dirs (that presumes having most things in few dirs, yeah). syncing by just appending new stuff, no erasing on target drive...

and just made live-cd with driveimage xml and acronis true image 11 to do full hdd backups.
