Which browser and version did you use ?
It's easy to copy the entire profile which includes browsing history and passwords with Firefox and Chrome.

If the browser was Chrome on the Acer the profile can be copied over, I did it on a PC a couple of weeks ago. I think it was ...\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data that I copied over.

The hard drive has around 30 file folders each with mixture of just numbers and letters,no app data in either one ?

You will need your PC set to show hidden files and folders.
